About Pam

Raised in Menan Idaho, husband in Ogden,Utah.

Enjoy traveling and just being together.

We have 3 children and 10 grandchildren. As a child we visited and fished in the area and have great memories. We wanted our children to have those same memories of being together.

Pam purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Pam chose Idaho

We wanted a place where our children and grandchildren could come and not have to pay the high Island Park rates. We want to try and stay within affordable rates for other families to enjoy our cabin too. Renting provides us a way to pay for it.

What makes this cabin unique

We enjoy the seclusion of the area. We have great neighbors that have become our friends. It is quiet area and everyone likes it that way.

We love to see the squirrels at work and the visitation of maybe a fox, deer or even moose. There have been bear seen by the neighbors a few years ago, but I have never seen one. I also love to see all the different birds and hear them calling to one another. Most of all I love to hear my grandchildrens laughter and see them enjoy 'camping and wennie roasts'.

Very Nice! Definitely recommend!

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin, roomy and beautifully decorated. Close to Yellowstone's west entrance - a definite plus. Kathy is very nice to work with - responded quickly to all of our pre-trip questions, and we had no issues during our stay. Definitely recommend.

Nice calm place, false accusations on checkout

  • 1 of 5

The place is very nice and close proximity to Yellowstone NP., the kitchen was well equipped and the rooms were neat. We respected the owner's terms and were very cautious and tidied the place well before we left. The owner depends on the housekeeper's words which is biased in my opinion. The log book showed it was mostly rented out to owner's family members who might be hesitant in reporting damages back to the owner. We were in for a shocking surprise after we checked out with false accusation of things that were broke or gouged on furniture etc. We will not be going back to this place again.

Owner's Response: Damage was fixed. Renter was not charged. My reviews are not from family. They are from renters all over (including as far as the Netherlands) that have returned over.and over. Some since 2005. Sorry this renter did not have a good experience.

Wonderful Place To Stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Kathy's cabin in July 2017. We had a total of 7 people and there was plenty of room for everyone. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Staying on the west side of Yellowstone was the best decision we made. We spent 5 days going through Yellowstone National Park and also visited Earthquake Lake. I did a lot of research in finding a place to stay and it paid off! The reasonable price and amazing accommodations made this an enjoyable trip for our family. We will definitely be back to stay here again. Thank you Kathy for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!

This is a great, clean, and secluded place!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is @ 2 miles back in, off the road. We even had to open a cattle gate to get there.(nice experience) When we arrived it was just a great ahhh..... feeling. Kathy was so helpful in making our stay great! West Yellowstone and the Yellowstone gate is only 19 miles over the mountain with good roads to get there. The house was very clean and comfortable. We did fill it up with 11 people but everyone had a bed to sleep in. The cabin does not have AC but it was not a problem for us in mid July. We opened the windows and by morning we wished we had not opened them quite so far. It cools off nice at night in this country. Thanks Kathy for a great place the great stay! Norman Christner

Great place for family

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here at Niel's roost was pleasant. Kathy was a great absintee host. She was always quick to answer my texts with any question we may have. The proximity to Yellowstone's entrance was good. We were able to be in the park in good time. I recommend this place for any family get together.

Map

Nearest Point of Interest
Neils Nest

Scenic views of nearby Yellowstone Park, Mesa Falls. Fishing in many areas including Henrys Lake.

The Google Map is wrong and does not show our road. We are a secluded area with no neighbors on adjoining lots. The air is clean and the stars at night are splendid. There are the birds and animals that frequent the area. The cabin is very clean and cared for. We have durable swings and a firepit for family gatherings. Please bring own wood if you plan on using firepit.

We are pet friendly (If you keep your pet with you at all times and clean up after them). There is a $20/night fee for each pet.
