Classic, Contemporary Private Home Casa Azul 3BR by the Beach

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,700 sq. ft.
Property type house

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6-10)

Located only two short blocks from the beach on a quiet residential street in the traditional Mexican village of Bucerias, Casa Azul, with 3 bedrooms, is one of two distinctive architecturally designed homes in a private a private residential compound.

You may rent these homes either separately or together. See our other VRBO listing #380829 for the 2 bedroom Casa Roja.

These architect designed homes are sited around a large pool with multi-leveled terraces and a playful fountain wall. Each house is set in a flowering landscape with mature coconut palms and the compound is surrounded by vine covered wall, which provide both security and privacy.

Our homes are just steps from the spectacular Bay of Banderas with its 10-mile long white sand beach and are near restaurants, shopping and markets.

Casa Azul offers an open floor plan that flows out to a sun dappled veranda covered by a traditional Mexican arbor, which covers a broad terrace and outdoor dining area overlooking the pool. Marble, stone and granite, along with all the modern appliances one would expect in a new home of this quality, can be found in this house.

Views from the bedrooms and rooftop palapa toward the mountains, the bay and the church steeple overlooking Bucerias' town square speak to the diversity of environments and variety of experiences available to our guests. Soft breezes off the mountains and from the Bay of Banderas make this an appealing point of destination and respite for any traveler.

Vine covered garden walls visually link and physically separate the Casa Azul and Casa Roja from one another to create a style and scale the melds contemporary design with the local architectural vernacular. The clever arrangement and relationship of the two homes - each with its own entry off the driving court - makes them ideal to be rented either individually to two unrelated groups or together to a larger group or family.

Both homes have central air conditioning in every room. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms, kitchen, and dining /living room. Satellite TV, Mexican phone for local calls, and wireless Internet.

Architecturally designed home. Large pool. Stunning spaces.

Approximately 2775 square feet, or 280 square meters of living space and terrace.

Three bedrooms. Two with queen size wrought iron four-poster beds and the one with two twin beds.

Three baths, each with large shower, stone counters and marble flooring. Over sized closets.

Each bedroom has its own private balcony, one on the first floor, overlooking the gardens and the two bedrooms on the second floor with views of the mountains, the village and the Bay of Banderas.

Large living room and dining room that open up on to a covered terrace with a spectacular view overlooking the pool and 20 foot long fountain.

Two outdoor dining terraces. One for ideal for sunset meals overlooking the pool. The other for more intimate dining parties.

Gourmet ktchen with spectacular granite counter tops, Primavera wood cabinetry, all new stainless steel appliances including, dishwasher and potable water filtration system in the kitchen.

Weber gas grill.

Finally, an added bonus is the traditional rooftop arbor, or palapa, set high in the treetops with spectacular views, built-in bar, refrigerator, sink and luxurious outdoor seating.

Your privacy is important so even with five bedrooms there will never be more than 10 guest. Either way it is important to us that you feel safe, secure and comfortable.

We look forward to welcoming you to our home.

Why Damon Farber chose Bucerías

We built Casa Azul (3BR) and Casa Roja (2BR) because we love the Mexican people and culture and wanted to enjoy life in a traditional village rather where we can walk to verything than in a gated, isolated community.

What makes this house unique

Quality and serenity.

Guestbook comments from the owner

It's our favorite place in the world to be. I sleep on the rooftop palapa in my

dreams. Bucerias is a great little town away from the typical tourist areas. We

look forward to taking the whole family again in the very near future.

Amazing stay - amazing owners

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (with two children under 3) stayed here for two weeks. We've stayed at multiple properties in Mexico, but nothing has come close to this property and the level of service provided. The owners were gracious hosts and have great people on staff to help visitors. From the appliances and kitchenware in the house, to the pool and landscaping, to the television and access to things like Netflix, to the clean/well kept furniture, the list goes on... every last thing is so well thought out and cared for that it felt like a second home. We can't recommend this property or its owners enough. Our experiences here really contributed to our memories of a very special time in our life.

Fantastic place for family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We were lucky enough to rent Azur for 11 days and Roja for 7. There were 7 adults and one 15 month old baby. The place was ideal for a group this size as the villa was large enough to accommodate all for meals. The Casida offered its own privacy when needed. The pool is definitely the feature and is well cared for by the pool man. Pool temperature was perfect and the place offers great towels and pool floaties. Our granddaughter loved the feature water fountain! In spite of being walled off for privacy there was always a nice breeze by the pool. The daily maid service was very attentive to all our needs(could probably go to alternate days if guests want a little more privacy). Location great for restaurants and shopping stores. Air conditioning worked well and was only required in evenings for sleeping as we were able to open doors and turn on fans to cool during the day. Damen (owner) and management company were very easy to deal with and went out of their way to ensure any issues(which were minor) were dealt with promptly. They even organised a playpen for our granddaughter before we arrived! Yard/garden well manicured. The only one small negative was the construction noise during week days for a high rise being built nearby. This was not enough to spoil our enjoyment. We would highly recommend!

Fantastic Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family heard that Bucerias was a great place to vacation. I was nervous about it at first, because we had never been to Mexico and we don't travel very often. I wanted this trip to be wonderful, as it was a rare treat for us for be able to get away together. It can be overwhelming with so many options for rentals. I am so HAPPY that I chose Casa Azul! The owner, Damon, replied to me very quickly and even spent a lot of time on the phone with me, answering all of my questions and offering great advice and detailed information on everything about the area and how to do the activities we were interested in.

It was such a relief to know that he has a property manager also. Miguel is wonderful...quite kind and helpful...and his english is great! The house is beautiful, clean, and relaxing. This rental is in the perfect location--you can walk to everything, which is what we wanted. It was quiet at the house at night, even though there are houses all around you. We never felt like we were around crowds of people on the beautiful beach, either. I love that Bucerias is a real town--not just tourists. We saw a dolphin jump when we were on the beach just down from the house. The plants and flowers are amazing at the house. Our teens were thrilled to see so many iguanas, geckos, and tree frogs.

Our teenagers had a lot of fun in the pool. We liked having a large patio/pool area that allowed us to all hang out together. The pool/beach towels that were provided were big and soft. At night we turned on the pool light, lit the candles they provided on the wall, and played games on the patio table. Lovely! The house is gorgeous and we felt so good being there. There was plenty of room for the 6 of us. We loved the roof top patio also. We really appreciated having the filtered water faucet in the kitchen. The air conditioning and the fans work really well.

We were surprised that our stay included daily cleaning service--even mopping the floors. She was such a sweet woman and a very hard worker! On our last day, the pool guy and the gardeners were hard at work and so kind. All the people we met in Bucerias were kind and happy people. We had a fantastic time! Our family hopes to go back again in the next year or two. We can't imagine staying anywhere else again, since Casa Azul was so fabulous!

Great time at las Casas de los Colores

  • 5 of 5

We rented both Casa Azul and Casa Roja for a family vacation at the beach. We stayed for one week, but definitely wish it had been longer. The homes are beautiful; the photos really do not do them justice. The houses are fully equipped with everything you may need for your stay, including kitchen appliances (e.g. blender, charcoal grill, gas grill, margarita glasses & wine glasses, toaster, dishwasher), pool and bath towels, hair dryers, and beach chairs & umbrellas. Each room has its own bathroom and terrace/balcony, so everyone was quite comfortable. The pool was lovely, and the beach is very close, too. Cleaning staff came by to clean the house and the pool, which was an added bonus. We would definitely stay here again. The

Lovely vacation home(s)

  • 5 of 5

We were 4 couples and rented both homes. It was a perfect spot. We have stayed in Bucerias numerous times, and while these homes are not on the water, they are not far. The pool and outdoor space is so lovely, we spent lots of time relaxing there. The homes are well designed and very tasteful. The kitchens were well appointed. We walked nearly daily from the house to Nuevo Vallarta - approximately 5 miles south down the beach. We took a bike tour through the town and up into the mountainside. There are some great local restaurants. A couple evenings we stayed in and Lucy cooked our meals which was a lovely treat.

A very relaxing holiday. The owners and the property manager are very easy and accommodating to deal with.

Stunningly beautiful, tranquil and serene get-away in the heart of Bucerias

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family group (8 adults and 1 child of 3 years of age) rented both houses over the Winter holiday in 2012 and had an outstanding stay. The owners attended to all of our questions in advance and had wonderful information about local activities and dining. We all enjoyed walking in Bucerias and along the beach and seeing the many sites of the colonial town. Four of us went to Punta Mita to paddleboard and whalewatch, which was very exciting... a little too exciting one time as our boat was a little too close to one of the whales when he surfaced to say hello.

The property is very safe, and thus our daughter could explore the grounds without worry and without being confined to a smaller condo. The groundskeepers, housekeepers and property managers were respectful and attentive.

Some of our favorite memories came from coordinating two local women to come into the home and prepare dinner, starting with appetizers and drinks served to us poolside, and culminating in a feast of authentic Mexican food that left us all no room to spare in our stomach. The cost of this service was approximately $10/person above the cost of the groceries to prepare the meal which the ladies will pick up; well worth the pleasure of leisurely dining in this exquisite home and being with your family.

We look forward to coming back, and highly recommend both Casa Azul and Casa Roja.
