Beautiful, recently renovated, Architect designed, 3 bedroom, lakefront cottage, with 168 feet of waterfront privacy and sandy beach, (depending on lake water level), on Highland Lake in Bridgton in the Lakes Region of Maine. Bridgton is at the base of the White Mountain Range in the southwest part of the state. Highland Lake is one of the prettiest lakes in the region and is famous for excellent fishing. Bring your own boat or use our Canoe. Great fishing, boating, and water skiing on Highland Lake.
The cottage sleeps up to 8 comfortably and is directly on the water. The large deck literally hangs out over the lake and you have a private beach (depends on lake level), and private dock. Take your boat to the Bridgton town dock for breakfast and shopping, or just lounge in the sun on the large waterfront deck. The views from the deck are simply incredible!
The cottage is new inside as of 2006, with an Architect designed, open floor plan, with amazing views out the expansive front windows. The master bedroom has 1 new Queen bed and private full master bath, the second bedroom has one Full size bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. Both of these bedrooms share a bathroom. There is also a pull-out full size sleeper in the living room. A double sided fireplace will warm you, if you have a cool Maine evening.
No smoking is allowed in the cottage. One pet, dog or cat, is allowed for an additional non-refundable $300 fee per week. Cottage uses lake water. Bottled water recommended for drinking.
NOTE: This is a seasonal cottage only available to rent for the months of May thru October.

I am a licensed architect and professional musician. You can find me playing saxophone and electric violin at Brays Pub in Naples in the southern Maine lakes region nearly evey Sunday night during the summer season. Stop by and say hello.
When I saw this property it was like the cottage sat 'in' the water. The large deck sits at water's edge and has a superb view down the lake. I re-designed and gutted the inside of the cottage and rebuilt it in the Maine 'Knotty Pine' style, but with modern appliances. This is a peaceful, private location with sunshine from early morning till mid to late afternoon. You'll love it!
Super Quiet Peaceful and private setting with incredible expansive views down length of lake. Hear the water lap up on the shore from your large private deck!
My family could not have had a more peaceful, beautiful week. The weather was perfect, sunny days and cool nights. We spent a lot of time on the huge deck that practically sits on the water. We didn’t do a lot of cooking but the kitchen seemed well stocked. The cabin is very comfortable, the ceiling fans worked great for the hot days. There was more than enough room for the three of us. The owner was very responsive but not intrusive. Highland lake is beautiful. The sandy entrance made for great swimming. The location is perfect. Because it’s at the very end of the road it has the quiet and privacy we wanted but it’s only about a 10 minute drive from the center of town. Bridgton has a movie theater and a drive in. We enjoyed breakfast at Beth’s Kitchen and dinner at the Gastropub. We saw a mother deer and her doe crossing the road in front of the cabin. Unfortunately we didn’t see loons but we did hear them. We all wished we rented for two weeks instead of one. Looking forward to next year.
This was our 2nd time staying at the lake house on Highland Lake. Loved it last year and loved it this year! Great location, quiet, private and room for two families. Loved being at end of a dead end street and far away from the action. Yet, there a lot of fun things to do within a short car ride such as, hiking, mini golf, Song River Queen, drive-in movies, etc. The owner John, we great to work with, very responsive. We hope to return again in the future.
We had a wonderful 2 weeks at Highland Lake, Bridgton, Maine. We had our 4 year old Labrador with us and we thoroughly enjoyed the lake, the canoe and the deck. We walked the dog through the neighborhood, which was fun as it is Christmas Shores and all of the streets are named Sleighbell Lane or Kris Kringle or Santa Clause and met several friendly neighbors. The house was well outfitted with 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a dining room, living room and working wood burning fireplace and plenty of plates and glasses and cookware. We cooked out on the grill and ate on the picnic table on the back deck most evenings. We used the loungers on the deck as there was not much sandy beach at this time. We had several lovely meals in town, one night at Venezia, 1 nights at Vivo, 1 night at the Gastropub. The lobster place at the rotary has wonderful lobster rolls. I recommend reservations for Venezia and Vivo. We saw a couple of movies at the theater and enjoyed trivia in the pub attached. The washer and dryer came in handy, but they are not full size and the washer needs to be hooked up to the sink so I was pleased that we overpacked as usual so that I did not have to rely on them. We would definitely go back.
We have rented this house for 6 summers now and absolutely love it. We have 3 boys and they look forward to going year after year. You can't beat the location and the view of the lake. We tube, ski, fish, canoe, swim, snorkel and go on countless boat rides. Our family loves to sit on the deck anytime of day. The center of Bridgton is great and close by. This cozy cottage suits a family of 5 just fine from babies to preteens. We always look forward to going back!
Never in my life have I ever been so relaxed or have enjoyed such peace as I do at your place. We had such a wonderful time and I came home entirely energized for whatever was awaiting me. We were a family that ranged from 80 years young to 16 years old. Everyone felt the same.
I rented this cabin last Oct during the peak of fall foliage season. I had a wonderful time. I wanted to experience the lake during the summer. We rented a speed boat and tube, took out the canoe, fished and swam. In the evening those sunsets were like something out of a dream. I was in awe of them. I have never really known lake life, I've always been a skiier and beach person. My eyes have been opened to lakes.
This was absolutely the most relaxed I have felt in a long time. I went up by myself to get away from it all, and I felt like I was in heaven. It was the quiet and serene beauty of the area during the fall foliage season, that made me want to come back again this summer. The cabin and grounds are beautiful. The large deck sits almost in the water. Sitting and relaxing in a chair with a cup of tea, reading on the long dock was wonderful. I recommend this wholeheartedly.
