Reserve the Bird's Nest to visit Marquette, the Best Small Town for Adventure, as named by USA Today's 10BEST for 2018! Centrally located in the U.P., come and relax in the serenity of a second-story studio barn apartment (housing no livestock or animals), located in the midst of 70 wooded acres, and just eight miles from downtown Marquette. Enjoy the peace and quiet of being surrounded by mature trees, full of wildlife -- including the occasional moose! Watch the herd of deer grazing on the food plot in winter and spring, and marvel at the foliage in autumn. Lake Superior, snowmobile trails, the bike path, and Marquette Mountain are also conveniently located just minutes away. This is an ideal space for snowmobilers, skiiers, and bird hunters, as there is plenty of heated indoor space to store equipment or kennel bird dogs! This property houses three, with a queen-sized bed and rollaway bed available, full kitchen, and 3/4 bath. Relish the comfort of in-floor heat, and set your own thermostat in fall and winter! Cable TV and free wi-fi are included, with heated indoor space to park a car, boat, or snowmobiles. Additionally, guests have access to an outdoor grill, fire pit, and hammock. Two kayaks are also available for use at no additional charge (other than a deposit). All-white bedding and bath towels included. Pets up to 25 pounds are allowed in the studio for a $75.00 fee (must be kenneled if left alone in the studio), and bird dogs are allowed in kennels on the lower level of the barn for a $75.00 fee. You must see this property to appreciate the beauty the U.P. has to offer!

Loved how clean it was.
The linens were so soft and the serenity vs. a noisy hotel is incomparable. The stairs could definitely present a challenge for some. Would stay here again as long as we think our knees can handle the stairs. The place is a gem!
The Birds Nest was a wonderful place to relax after exploring all of the natural beauties of the Northern Shorleline of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Sarah and Kyle went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable and even facilitated finding us alternate accomodations when I made an error in my check out date when booking (Thank you again!). They had everything we needed in the Birds Nest to thoroughly enjoy ourselves the accomodations were perfect in every way. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in exploring the Upper Peninsula and all of its natural beauties.
Beautiful location, lovely studio, and fantastic hosts. Apartment has everything you need.
Saw deer the first day when I took our dogs for their morning walk. We have two small yorkies and they loved the rental. The only shortfall was for the pups, they needed to be carried down the steps as the risers were high. The humans enjoyed everything.
A charming place to stay located at the gateway to the Upper Penninsula.
From the moment we booked our trip with the owner, we knew we made a good choice, as she messaged us within an hour hour to confirm our reservation. She provided another message a couple days prior to our arrival that included detailed directions to the property, which we greatly appreciated since it’s a bit off the main road. Both she and her husband were extremely welcoming to us upon our arrival and ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay with them. The apartment was very clean, well furnished, and extremely comfortable for our stay and everything functioned as expected or better. We even brought our little dog along who had a blast playing with their well trained Springer Spaniel as well!
We have already made plans to return to the UP this fall and you can bet that we’ll be staying here again when we do!
Clean and well maintained
Enjoyed a fishing and golf vacation with my son in the UP. Stayed at the nest for 4 days.
Sarah and Kyle are very welcoming and did everything to make sure we were comfortable. Would recommend.
Great place to stay! Clean and quiet.
