Reserve the Bird's Nest to visit Marquette, the Best Small Town for Adventure, as named by USA Today's 10BEST for 2018! Centrally located in the U.P., come and relax in the serenity of a second-story studio barn apartment (housing no livestock or animals), located in the midst of 70 wooded acres, and just eight miles from downtown Marquette. Enjoy the peace and quiet of being surrounded by mature trees, full of wildlife -- including the occasional moose! Watch the herd of deer grazing on the food plot in winter and spring, and marvel at the foliage in autumn. Lake Superior, snowmobile trails, the bike path, and Marquette Mountain are also conveniently located just minutes away. This is an ideal space for snowmobilers, skiiers, and bird hunters, as there is plenty of heated indoor space to store equipment or kennel bird dogs! This property houses three, with a queen-sized bed and rollaway bed available, full kitchen, and 3/4 bath. Relish the comfort of in-floor heat, and set your own thermostat in fall and winter! Cable TV and free wi-fi are included, with heated indoor space to park a car, boat, or snowmobiles. Additionally, guests have access to an outdoor grill, fire pit, and hammock. Two kayaks are also available for use at no additional charge (other than a deposit). All-white bedding and bath towels included. Pets up to 25 pounds are allowed in the studio for a $75.00 fee (must be kenneled if left alone in the studio), and bird dogs are allowed in kennels on the lower level of the barn for a $75.00 fee. You must see this property to appreciate the beauty the U.P. has to offer!

Perfect for two
This is our second time staying here. We like it a lot. I would recommend this to friends.
Flat Out Perfect
This is one of those reviews you write with entirely mixed feelings, ie, the property and experience was entirely perfect and precisely what we want when we travel...but, in telling you this, it means this property will get more recognized and more people will stay here and then it won't be just OURS anymore. I know. Entirely illogical. But that's how much we enjoyed ourselves here.
When we travel we want peace and seclusion and privacy and nature. Check, check, check, check. The photos are accurate and the loft is equipped with anything you'd need (we asked for a couple extra pillows and Sarah ran a few down to us a few minutes later). Clean, cozy, and did we mention: private.
The barn/loft is on 70 acres of absolutely gorgeous forest. You can walk some trails. We visited just near peak fall color and it was flat out extraordinary. There's a mix of maples and aspen and conifers and larch and it's dead quiet. All. The. Time. You're 10 minutes from downtown Marquette and Northern Michigan University. These folks are perfect hosts who understand what makes a good VRBO experience a good VRBO experience. We will be back. As often as possible.
cozy and perfect
we had a great mom/daughter getaway here while visiting Northern Michigan University. everything we needed and completely quiet and peaceful.
Very cool place
Very neat place in a peaceful setting. Short drive to Marquette.
What a place modern and cozy at the same time. Pretty well equipped kitchen too.
It was a very peaceful and beautiful place to relax!!
The studio was absolutely perfect! We picked up groceries on our way there and spent a lot of our time there. Sarah had thought of everything! We are from the Branson Missouri area and deal with tourists on a daily basis, so we just wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of a tourist town. Marquette did not disappoint. The studio was out of town far enough that we were never bothered by anything or anyone! Thank you Sarah for making our first vacation in 4 years memorable!
