Enjoy peace and tranquility in a log-beamed cabin nestled in the Catskills mountains of Phoenicia. 5 min to Phoenicia Diner, Graham & Co. and a short drive from Woodstock, this two bedroom house with newly renovated 1-1/2 baths has a fully-equipped modern kitchen, wifi, new entertainment system, outdoor grill, gardens and fire pit in the back. It is the perfect mountain retreat.
A beautifully kept cabin built in 1950, the house has solid log wood beams throughout and wood floors with the exception of the newly renovated sun room tile. Wake up to the sounds of the birds chirping and make friends with all of the critters scurrying about. There are butterflies, jackrabbits, chipmunks, loads of different birds including woodpeckers and cardinals- and if you catch the timing right you may see the baby bunny living in the front yard. I've been told you can even get a glimpse of a bear as they do live in the area. And at night, as you sit on the porch and check out the stars and the fireflies you can hear the sound of the water just below.
It's truly a place to catch up on sleep and get into the R&R vibe. I find it nearly impossible to leave every time I'm here.
Guests can access the property with a key from the lock box on the side of the house. If they choose to meet with someone in person for a walk through this might be a possibility as well.
Groceries are best purchased outside of Phoenicia. There's a market on Main Street but I'd only use this as a last minute stop if you really need something. My favorites are off Rte 28 - Migliorelli Farm or Mt Tremper Market. Both selling local produce, dairy and meats. Otherwise, in Boiceville also off Rte 28 there is an IGA which you'll find most everything else.
There is a wine shop in Phoenicia but I prefer the Boiceville shop which is next to the IGA. They have a much better selection but again, if you're in a bind, the one in Phoenicia is OK.
There are some great restaurants in the area. Tavern 214 next to Graham & Co is great and Peekamoose is also terrific. Phoenicia Diner for breakfast/brunch is a must but either go early or prepare for a wait. It gets pretty crazy later in the morning. Woodstock also has some great spots and is a 20 min drive away.
