About the property

Enjoy a relaxing and cozy cabin getaway in the woods within one mile of the Lake Rabun Boat Ramp, beach, and Campground. Lake Rabun is one of the most beautiful lakes in Georgia. Bring your small boat, kayak, or SUP! Plenty of hiking is very nearby! There is one bedroom and bath on the main level with a queen size bed, the Master bedroom is down 6 steps with a comfy queen bed and its private bathroom and shower, the third room is an upstairs loft and sleeps two in a pull out trundle bed. Its great fun for kids or kids-at-heart! Enjoy a comfortable living room with a flat screen TV, Wifi, plenty of DVD movies, and wood burning fireplace for the colder months, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room for 6, and a large screened porch, together with a grill and game table (pool and ping pong). Relax with the family on the large front deck or make a bonfire and roast marshmallows down in the fire pit. Enjoy additional friends and family time while hiking to nearby waterfalls, trails, swimming, or boating in gorgeous Lake Rabun, or visiting nearby Tallulah Gorge with its many waterfalls. A visit to the nearby town of Clayton, pottery and art shops, white water rafting, fishing, kayaking, ziplining, horseback riding, and several local wineries are also on the list of the many interesting things to see and do. I truly believe you'll enjoy this cozy cabin in the woods!

About Monica McCloy

Hello! Carl and I have been married for over 30 years and currently live in Atlanta, GA. We have two awesome daughters and are still waiting on our first grandchild. We enjoy gardening, traveling, boating, the arts, and cute homes.

Monica McCloy purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Monica McCloy chose Lakemont

We fell in love with Lake Rabun and the north Georgia mountain area. Camping has always been a past time we enjoyed and owning a cozy rustic cabin seemed like the next step. Plus, the boat ramp is just a mile away. In just minutes we can be zooming through the beautiful lake in the boat.

What makes this cabin unique

Close to Lake Rabun, Lake Burton, and Lake Seed, Tallulah Gorge, Clayton, waterfalls, and hiking trails.

This was so much nicer than the wonderful pictures suggest! It rained most of our visit and was a bit cold but the wood burning stove and several space heaters kept us warm while we listened to the rain on the tin roof. Cannot wait to go back.

Perfect cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing visit! The cabin was perfectly accommodating for our family of four. We made memories by the fire pit, enjoyed watching movies, and playing checkers on the screened in porch. The house is decorated beautifully. Something to take in and enjoy around every corner. It was homey and comfortable and so very peaceful and relaxing. There were so many lovely personal touches too - the handmade soaps and honey, the spices and coffee creamer. It was the perfect weekend get away - I highly recommend it! The nearby hikes to Minnehaha and Angel Falls were outstanding. Exceeded our expectations! The gorge and Anna Ruby falls were wonderful as well. It is an absolutely beautiful area to visit. I highly recommend a trip into the town of Clayton as well - lots of spots to eat and shop. We can not wait for a return visit!!!

Beautiful quiet cabin

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved staying here. Beautiful area and lots of exploring to do in the area. The cabin was clean and well equipped with anything we needed! Def will stay here again if we are ever in the area again. Lots of information on local attractions to do and very informative. Host was attentive to any needs and made sure the check in and out process was painless

The perfect cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a ball at this cabin!! We spent most of our time on the outdoor deck, on the screened porch (grilling), and down at the fire pit. The set up is perfect for a quiet getaway with plenty of games and activities. Inside, the place is super clean and laid out great for 4-6 people. We didn't use the loft, but it would be great for a couple of kids...

If you need a place to relax for a few days, this is IT! I just hope it's available for us again this summer.....

PS- owners are very welcoming and had notes on several appliances to help with easy operation! Really nice touch along with the welcoming note!! Can't go wrong with this place!!

Better than advertised

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location for enjoying Lake Rabun and nearby waterfalls, hiking trails, etc. The cabin was clean, well kept and fully equipped with everything we needed and much more. We have rented several other cabins in the past and this was by far the best. We will definitely be back.
