Quiet little lake paradise!

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,029 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

3 bedroom, waterfront house with screened porch, private beach and dock!

Come enjoy a quiet stay at our little waterfront paradise. This cozy house is located on the secluded and serene "Gin Pond" cove off of Taw Caw Creek on Lake Marion. The view from the house is a sunrise over the water with nothing more than Mother Nature's beauty in the background. It is literally just around the corner from John C. Land landing and just a short boat or car ride to Goat Island Restaurant and Lounge. Taw Caw campground is also just a short walk from the property.

Taw Caw Creek is located on the north side of Lake Marion near historic Goat Island in Summerton, South Carolina. It is virtually stump free so it makes for a great creek for boat riding and water sports. Lake Marion is the largest lake in SC and boasts some of the best fishing in country. If you enjoy fishing, bring your tackle for; crappie, bream, shell cracker, catfish, large mouth bass, and striped bass (rock fish). If you are a beginner or don't have the necessities to fish on your own, there are several guides local to the area. Lake Marion is connected via waterways to the port of Charleston so bring your boat and make the trek! It is a beautiful ride.

There is a park and a public boat landing within just a couple of miles of the house. Foxboro golf course is just 3 miles from the house. There are a total of 6 golf courses within a 30 minute drive of the house (Santee and Manning). Goat Island Restaurant is just over 4 miles away by road or even closer by boat! There are several dining options within a 30 minute drive (Santee and Manning). Or just bring your groceries and cook right at the house. There is a charcoal grill available in addition to full kitchen amenities. There is also a fish cleaning table under a shade tree in the yard.

Relax in the rocking chairs or the hammock on the large screened in porch and enjoy the private dock and waterfront area that sits in front of the large lush irrigated lawn. Pull your boat right up to the beach or tie it up to the dock during your stay. If you like the lake and easy living, then you are sure to enjoy your stay at our home. Thank you for considering our home for your vacation.

About Ben Davis

I was born and raised in the Goat Island area and I spent my entire life there on/around the lake and my father's farm until my job and marriage moved me to Moncks Corner in 2015. I grew up fishing, hunting, and playing on the water. When I moved from the area, I decided to keep the house because of my strong bond with the area and the house itself. I just recently (2017) decided to experiment with rentals because I want others to be able to enjoy the house as we do. Although I don't live but an hour away, our (Megan and I) busy lives and careers do not allow visits as often as we would like. We hope that you will stay and treat it like your own and, most of all, enjoy it!

Ben Davis purchased this house in 2007

Why Ben Davis chose Summerton

After graduating from Clemson University, I decided to move back to Summerton because it was home. I LOVE the lake and enjoying the outdoor activities that the area has to offer. I was able to get a job in the area and live around my family and life-long friends. The majority of my family still lives there today and I visit as often as possible.

What makes this house unique

After buying this little house, I had to completely renovate it. I spent a couple of years doing the work myself and when it was done, I fell in love with the final product. It is a neat little place with an awesome view and there are several ways to enjoy it. From the dock, from a rocking chair or the hammock on the large screened porch, or from the den through the large picture window. It makes for a perfect way to relax and enjoy all hours of the day or night.

From this home you will have direct access to the Santee Cooper lakes (Marion and Moultrie), which boasts some of the best fishing in the country. Take an adventurous and very scenic boat ride to end up in the Charleston harbor/Atlantic Ocean. There are several golf courses in the surrounding area and also several restaurants, both on the waterfront and inland. This home is a 1 1/2 hr drive from Charleston, SC, which is the #1 ranked city in the nation and #2 in the world! The best feature is the tranquility and the "easy living" culture. great little place in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

stump free creek is a huge bonus for fisherman not familiar with this lake. Marion can be difficult to navigate if its your first visit and having a safe cove/creek/portion of the lake to operate in was great! house was plenty big for 4 fisherman and we had a great time.
