Guests are sure to enjoy a memorable vacation in this fully furnished, 3 bedroom/2 bath house and mountain retreat. The space is comfortable for sleeping up to 8 people (3 bedrooms and a loft). Relax in the hammock, or enjoy the view of your private valley from the rocking chairs on the large wraparound porch. When night falls, retire to Adirondack chairs on the stone patio. Warm up and tell tales by the fire pit, or just lean back and admire the amazing starry sky - no neighbors means no light pollution!

The spacious living room is furnished with couches and a fireplace for those cool winter nights. A flat screen TV is connected to the internet for those who cannot do without, but there is NO cable - enjoy the outdoors and relax with your friends and family.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a range, microwave and refrigerator. The property is just minutes away from the start of the Tail of the Dragon and the Foothills Parkway which will deliver you to the Smoky Mountains National Park in about 40 minutes.

This property is ideal for intimate rural weddings as well (our family has enjoyed 5 weddings on the property so far!) with picturesque barn available for receptions.

Take a wildflower walk along the creekside road, challenge yourself on the network of trails winding up and down the folds of this private hollow, or explore by playing the nine hole private disc golf course. Take a rest at the pergola where the private hollow opens up to a Chilhowee Mountain view.

The 1/3 mile driveway is paved making our home the perfect get-a-way for bikers and sports car enthusiasts visiting our area to drive our scenic winding roads.

Notes:
We are off the beaten path but near the Tail of the Dragon and the Foothills Parkway. The 1/3 mile driveway is paved so bikers and sports car enthusiasts need not worry about getting back to the house. Parking for 5 cars at the house. There are no visible neighbors from our home - relax by the fire pit, enjoy amazing starlit sky at night. This is NOT Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg... if that is what you are looking for this is NOT the place for you!

Absolutey loved this place! Extremely peaceful for those of you that like the peace and quiet.

Very quaint and clean. Loved everything about it and the peace and quiet. Sleeping arrangements are perfect for 6 or more. The kids had a great time as well! The only thing was low water pressure. At times it was hard to take showers. The owner is very kind and responds quickly. I would absolutely recommend this place!

We do apologize for the low water pressure during your stay - we were surprised by how bad it was when we were there to clean the house after your stay since we had just replaced the well pressure tank at the start of your stay. Apparently the renewed pressure flushed the system and quickly blinded the sediment filter - which we have now changed. Rick

Quiet, serene and secluded

House was perfect for our family get-away. Kitchen had everything we needed. The dishes are amazing! Firepit, back porch, and patio area are wonderful. We took advantage of the rocking chairs and the hammock, as well as the grill! My only 2 suggestions would be 1) a pest control company to take care of the ladybug infestation in the master bedroom and bathroom (I have pictures), and 2) shades on the bedroom windows for those who want to sleep in. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and will definitely recommend to friends looking for a quiet place to rest and relax.

Owner's Response: Ah yes - the annual visit (invasion?) of the Lady Bugs - who would have thought they could squeeze through closed windows! The house was vacuumed just before you arrived - not much an exterminator can do. They are truly amazing - sorry for their inconvenience. Window shades - an idea we will certainly entertain - never wanted them while we lived there! (potential guests - there are NO visible neighbors so it is NOT a privacy issue!) The closest neighbor is a quarter mile away through the woods... Glad you were able to enjoy the quiet and serenity of our retreat! Rick & Sharon

A beautiful home, equipped with everything we needed. Spacious, cozy, memorable for our family.

It was an amazing location for enjoying the fall weather. The home had many accommodations for our stay and the owners were attentive to our needs. There were some complications related to ‘balancing’ the heat and the water pressure, but once the solution was shared, it was definitely doable. As mentioned before, it is quite the hike from Dollywood, Knoxville and other attractions, but you can get there in a hour travel time or less. But when at the house, it is indeed peaceful, calming and relaxing. We would absolutely return to this home in Maryville.

A Great Place to Stay!

This was my first experience using VRBO and it was a smooth one. This place is as advertised and there were no surprises. The pictures and details are very accurate. This is a great place to stay if you want to get away from it all and or be close to the Tail of the Dragon. The long driveway and parking area is very motorcycle friendly.

The Wi-Fi worked great. Cellular service was sketchy. iPhone's with AT&T and Verizon had no service. Androids with Verizon did.

There's a convenient store about 4 miles away that has your basic necessities and makes a great pizza. No adult beverages though, so BYOB or you will be venturing back to 411.

I hope anyone that stays here will be respectful and courteous so that the owner can have a successful VRBO and I can book it again in the future.

WRITE THESE DIRECTIONS DOWN OR YOU WILL GET LOST FOLLOWING YOUR GPS... yes, I know you don't believe me... but your cell phone will not work as you get close and you WILL become 'misplaced'...

DIRECTIONS: from the intersection of US 129 and TN 336 (and the Fast Lap Gas station). Head EAST on 336 (Six Mile Rd) 1.8 miles.

Turn RIGHT onto Allegheny Loop Rd and travel 1.1 miles, turning left onto our driveway. Drive 0.3 miles, passing the barn and continueing to the house at the end of the driveway!

To get to the intersection of 129 and 336 from the airport - travel south on US 129 for 9 miles, at which point is turns LEFT (and 411 South goes straight toward Atlanta).

Travel another 7.0 miles on US 129 south until you come to the Rite Stop gas station on the left. You are now where the directions above commence....

LEFT onto 336 (Six Mile Rd) for 1.8 miles; RIGHT onto Allegheny Loop Rd for 0.9 miles; left onto driveway - follow driveway 0.3 miles to house!
