This house appears expensive but is worth every penny. I have summered in this area most of my life I can safely say that its probably one of the best houses in the Area and the best house I have ever rented from Garrucha to Cabo de Gata. Massive amounts of space both inside the house and large mature garden surrounding it. Literally on the beach! with its own gate to access the beach from the garden. Its a family home and this gives a very warm feel to the house which also has some interesting history to it. Its a far cry from the typical 2nd home decorated with anodyne Ikea o downright awful cheap and functional furniture. Quite the opposite, its extremely well equipped with everything you need and has an interesting, very comfortable and curious interior which has been developed over time by a family. The only thing we bring with us is our trusty Thermomix. Yes the house does look a little tired in places but this is mainly due to the fact that its is literally on the sea front and suffers significantly from salt water corrosion. It can sleep up to 8 although we have only ever been with my family of 4, which is a real luxury. The Village, Carboneras, might frighten a few given that it has 3 major industries and 2 industrial ports in the Village. Trust me, these are barely noticeable. At least in the summer. The Village itself isn,t particularly interesting either, in fact its a little ugly. But this said, it does have a particular charm in that its a very national and local tourism and that it never really feels at all crowded. The Village beach is huge and you can enjoy more busy areas and less busy areas. Another good feature of the beach is that when the sea is rough, you can go to protected areas of the Village beach which are safe from the waves. And, of course, there are a number of alternative, spectacular, beaches a short drive away. There are also a number of very interesting hiking / mountain bike routes in the area. However, if you rent this house, you will be pushed to go anywhere as its such a nice place to stay. I highly recommend this property in any season. Summer is obviously more expensive and the area in more crowded. Would love to go in May or June one year.
We have been going to Carboneras almost every year for more than 20 years and the Casa Blanca is one of the most amazing house in the village. It's a beautiful house, perfectly located within walking distance from the village and its Thursday market. The beach is in front of the house and it's quiet. The house itself is beautiful and very spacious. Enough space for the kids to play around, swim in the pool, go to the beach and for us to relax, read and enjoy the view. Paca, the housekeeper, is simply amazing. We usually hire her services as a cook for the entire stay and it's definitely something we never regret. Her cooking is delicious and she knows which fresh fish to buy, when is the time to get it and especially how to cook it. Her gazpacho is the best (we brought the recipe home and have it all year long). She helps make us feel totally at home. The village itself is in a beautiful area in Andalusia where the desert meets the sea and still relatively protected from mass tourism, close to Cabo de Gata national park. A few hours drive from Granada and within short drives to many lovely villages.
If you are looking for a relaxing vacation by the pool and/or the beach, this is the place to go. The house is well taken care of and very spacious. If you are not eating out in one of the local seafood restaurants, the kitchen is well stocked with proper equipment and utensils. The nice sized salt-water pool feels very private and the view of beach at sunrise is unbeatable. Not to mention that, in July at least, the beach is one of the few left on the Med. which is not overcrowded. Also, there seemed to be more locals vacationing here than tourists during the week we were there.
My family and I stayed in the ´Casa Blanca´ for our summer vacation. It was the perfect environment for all the family- with something to offer for every age- the children spent their time between the fantastic pool and the beach which is right in front of the house, I enjoyed relaxing days by the pool and going on trips to the various local villages including Nijar, Mojacar, Las Negras. There are also some great hiking and biking trails. My husband and brothers explored them all. The amenities in the house are great, especially the luxury kitchen! The house is beautiful, well-maintained and amazing. It is a great break from the routine and it allows us the opportunity to offer our children and family a fantastic dream vacation. Worth every penny- we plan on going every holiday possible. Highly recommended!!!
We had the pleasure to stay two month ; the summer of 2007 in your beautiful villa and had a fantastic time. the location can not be better being right on the ocean however still total privacy with the way the house is built up. The house itself is also magnificent and the local services of the lady that takes care of the house are also fenomenal thank you very much and we will definitely return when time allows.
This is a wonderful place to stay. The location is amazing with a lovely quiet beach at the bottom of the garden and a superb pool which is deep enough to dive into. The house is stunning and with the whole of the front being glass the views are truly magical, especially at sunrise.
