Spacious 3 bedroom apartment located in Hip Downtown Wilmington
Welcome to the Victorian on Church Street. This home is a true Victorian style home built in 1882. The house was lovingly restored to retain most of its orginial historic charms including the plaster walls, mortise door locks, and heart pine floors.
The apartment has a private entrance and is located on the second floor of a house. Upon entering the house, you will step back in time! The living room is decorated warmly with comfortable upholstered furniture and charming accessories collected from around the world.
Each of the three bedrooms in the apartment is uniquely decorated. The Rose Room is a light filled room located at the front of the house. The queen size four poster bed and antique mahagoney furnishings are appropriate for a Victorian home. The Italian Room also has a queen bed, but is a more modern style and reflects a sophisicated, world traveler feel. The WW II bedroom is decorated to reflect the important role the Port City played in our military history with two old-fashioned rod iron twin beds and old photographs on the walls.
The kitchen is large and filled with light. It is simply appointed but you will find everything you need to serve yourself a meal. A laundry room and private back porch is for your use.
The Victorian on Church is on a brick-lined street with plenty of free on-street parking. Just a few blocks west is the Cape Fear River. You will be staying in the Wilmington Historic District, a neighborhood dedicated to protecting the old homes in the area but with residents who are very modern and friendly. Just a few blocks to the south is the hip Castle Street Arts District which has great restaurants, breweries, antiques and vintage shops. Wrightsville Beach is 11 miles away.
This home has been in our family for three decades. My husband and I restored the house in the late twentieth century at a time when many people were abandoning downtown. Now my daughter and I are renting this top floor apartment to travelers who appreciate the charm and quirks of a hundred plus year old house. There are two apartments on the first floor occupied by full-time residents. Everyone is welcome to sit on the front porch and feel the breeze coming off the Cape Fear River, greet neighbors walking by, or you can stay on the private back porch off the kitchen and bedrooms. We hope you will love the charm of this house and its neighborhood as much as we do!

Why Jennifer Miller chose Historic District
This house has been in my family for three decades. My husband and I restored the house in the late 20th century at a time when many people were abandoning downtown Wilmington. This house retains many original features; such as heart pine floors, plaster walls, and mortise door locks.
What makes this Apartment unique
The house affords a lovely breeze from the Cape Fear River. It is located within easy walking distance to many downtown attractions, but is on a quiet residential street. The location of the house is fantastic for Azalea Festival and July 4 activities!
