Great location for exploring Lisbon and the nearby beaches
We are a family of 5 (3 daughters aged 13/12/12). We spent 5 days of October half term at the farmhouse. We loved the property - plenty of space to relax, eat together, watch movies. The girls enjoyed exploring the garden and even braved the pool. The weather was mixed sun/rain but didn’t stop us from exploring: one day in Lisbon (45 mins drive away); other days to different beaches, including taking the ferry over to troia and driving down the peninsula. Lovely fish/seafood lunches in restaurants on beaches and in Lisbon. The property owners were extremely helpful, answering our questions in advance and waiting to welcome us late at the property on our Friday evening arrival. The house is well stocked for cooking utensils etc and the owners kindly left us some bread which we appreciated when we arrived. A good supermarket about 10 minutes drive away. We hope to visit again.
Thanks for your kind words, it was a pleasure to welcome you in our farmhouse.
A very comfortable house in a wonderful rural location
The house is very comfortable, with a spacious living area going out onto the patio and into the extensive garden. We sat for long periods in the sunshine watching birds flitting through the trees and loved strolling round the property in the evening as the sun went down. The kitchen has all the equipment you could possibly want. The area is fascinating - from Setubal, an interesting busy port town with a superb market, to the Cabo Espichel. The Atlantic beaches are particularly beautiful. The Sabo Estuary is superb for bird-watching. Everyone was very friendly and the food in the area is delicious. There is great walking in the Arribida Natural Park, but we recommend doing some research in advance to find the routes - Adventurept has a good map.
Thank you Sarah. We are happy that you enjoy our holidays ans hope to see you in a near future.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The farm is a lovely place to relax and everything is really close.
Wonderful farm in a peaceful setting. We felt as we come home after our days of golf play. We will be happy to come back.

The farm is located in Aldeia Grande, district of Setubal, 40 kilometres from south of Lisbon (45 min driving) between Setúbal and Azeitão (10 min driving) and close to Sesimbra and Villa of Meco (30 min drive).
Arrabida Mountains embraces the most beautiful beaches protected by the hills with white sand and calm and crystal waters of the atlantic ocean (10 min by car: Figueirinha, Galapos, Portinho Arrábida).
In Setubal (a fisherman city) you can take a ferry to go to Troia where you have golf, casino and golden sandy beaches.
Arrabida is a natural Mediterranean-influenced park. Place where nature and culture get together, a place of contrasts, the land and sea, sky and mountains, the combined works of man and nature.
Magical place, landscape with churches, chapels, monasteries, shrines, castles and fortifications.
Places of interest near by: Setúbal, Azeitão, Palmela, Sesimbra, Vila do Meco, Troia and of course Lisbon.
Unique paradise for nature lovers.
Hiking, mountain biking, scuba diving, kayaking, boating, bird and dolphin watching, horseback riding, golf or simply relax on the beach or in the farmhouse.
Gastronomy and local products:
One of the highlights of the region are the wines (including moscatel wine) and the cellar tours around Azeitão (Bacalhôa visit, José Maria da Fonseca and Casa Ermelinda) and Aldeia Grande (visit Quinta do Alcube).
Exploring the Wine Route of Setúbal Peninsula also means knowing the gastronomic traditions of the peninsula. The diversity of the region offers the visitor a variety of delicacies to taste, like cheese of Azeitao, wine, fresh fish grilled in the charcoal or fish stews and soups, oysters from Estuario do Sado and others. The sweets are also very popular with almonds and oranges from Setubal, don't miss the famous Torta de Azeitao (with eggs and cinnamon)!
