Great place to unplug - charming historic country home

The Ashley Jewell House is a 4500 square foot historic home built in 1895. It still has all the original fireplace mantels, wood floors as well as most millwork and doors. The house is situated at the edge of 'Jewell on the Green' with two historic churches and the old two story schoolhouse. The property has a pond, river frontage and acres of woods and meadows. The home has a large front porch, country kitchen, parlor, dining room, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

Why Wayne & Suzanne Barnes chose Hancock County

We took one look at this property and instantly fell in love. It was a beautiful September day the first time we looked at this property. The house was so charming and the huge country kitchen made us think of family and friends gathered around for an evening of conversation. The property is situated at the edge of historic 'Jewell on the Green' which just oozes historic charm. The rolling landscape, ponds meadows and forested area are so picturesque and the pristine riverfront beckons you to simply sit and relax.
