Why Wayne & Suzanne Barnes chose Hancock County
We took one look at this property and instantly fell in love. It was a beautiful September day the first time we looked at this property. The house was so charming and the huge country kitchen made us think of family and friends gathered around for an evening of conversation. The property is situated at the edge of historic 'Jewell on the Green' which just oozes historic charm. The rolling landscape, ponds meadows and forested area are so picturesque and the pristine riverfront beckons you to simply sit and relax.

Nearby are the Ogeechee River Car Museum and the historic Riverview Mill ( water operated grist mill, still operational). Tours can be arranged as these venues do not have regular hours. The area is loaded with hidden historical gems and secrets to be found! Local lore says that one of the major Ogeechee river crossings by the Native Americans is somewhere on our property.
