About Karen & Dave Sevison
My husband, Dave, and I are "family" people - the best times and memories are with family. Dave has a large family in Baltimore, where he was born and raised. We own a truck transport business in Baltimore, Md. which also employs several of his family members. My career path was in petroleum products marketing for 22 years in the Va./Md./Del./Pa. markets. Approximately 12 years ago we retired and moved to Flagler Beach where we built an ocean view home and watched are family grow. We now share 8 grandchildren from Md. to Cal. and love to share adventures and fun with them. Dave loves to golf and build wood projects or help others and I love to quilt, swim and cook. Fodder Creek is the beginning of a new journey in our marriage and we look forward to sharing this with our family as well as with you.
Karen & Dave Sevison purchased this House in 2017
Why Karen & Dave Sevison chose Hiawassee
I've always loved the seasons; being a Floridian..there's only ONE. Georgia has been calling to us for a long time. We have friends and extended family in Georgia; and we truly missed the change of seasons one enjoys in the North. Georgia offers a beautiful spring, summer fun in the lakes and streams, and luscious colors in the fall with crisp evenings and a touch of snow in the winter. We have looked for a long time for the perfect oasis for us - I wanted a babbling brook and the sound of breezes as well as mountain vistas. The first moment we saw Fodder Creek, we felt the sense of "home, family". We hope you do, as well.
What makes this House unique
We love the first view of Brass Bald Mountain with its mountain top monument and are totally lured to the sounds of the Creek. We feel a welcoming sense as we enter the double front doors and see the coziness of the living room. Obviously, as I love to cook - this kitchen is so appealing; I can't wait to get in there. The Master Suite with its unusual chandelier and vast graciousness makes one look forward to spending relaxing, private time there. We both love to take, what we call" adventures" to sightsee.. I have always enjoyed the Cherokee area and Blue Ridge - now Dave will. We always find something interesting in Blair, like the "donations appreciated" concerts of country instruments, county fairs, etc. Helen is such a fun place to sightsee/shop/eat. You have three states to find new adventures in. Fodder Creek is in a wonderful location to branch out and share your own "adventures".

What a wonderful house on Fodder Creek. This house was very nicely decorated and comfortable. It was a perfect vacation setting close to Hiawassee. My friend and I enjoyed our stay, although it was too brief! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to prepare meals and we made use of the outdoor grill one evening to grill steaks. Karen the owner was very easy to deal with. We had a great visit in the mountains of North Georgia and enjoyed our stay at such a charming cottage
Perfect weekend getaway!
We had such an amazing time in this quiet, beautiful, cozy home. We brought our three little girls and they had a get time playing games, walking in the creek and making s’mores! It was perfect! We will be back!
After reading the other reviews, we had high expectations and were not disappointed. The house was superb...well-designed and clean...and the location was very nice. The creek in the backyard provided a great backdrop and cocktail-sipping area!
We were not especially familiar with the area but found the house to be in a location that made short getaways easy.
The owners are wonderful and were very attentive to our questions. This is now our official 'spot' when we return to N Georgia.
This place is amazing! The creek is just steps from the back door, which we loved because you could hear it at all times. The fire pit was wonderful and we used it every night. The cabin was exactly as described, even better in person. It was decorated very nicely and extra clean! The owners have really gone out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need! This is the perfect place for relaxation. We enjoyed our 21st wedding anniversary here and would love to stay again in the future! Thank you for allowing others to enjoy your special place!
Thank you for your kind response. So, we look forward to seeing you for your 22nd anniv. To share some new memories!
Can't say enough
This Fodder Creek getaway far exceeded our expectations. My mom, sister and I rented the house for four days to be close to relatives while we attended my Grandmothers funeral. Dave and Karen were very generous and allowed us to have other family members gather together afterwards. The creek side back yard was just the serenity that everyone needed. The house is absolutely stunning! ( I think you are going to be hearing from my family alot in the future) The description and the photo's do not do it justice. Dave and Karen literally thought of every little detail to make our stay carefree! I can not wait to bring my husband back for our Anniversary in April. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Thank you so much for those lovely comments. They meant so much to us. We look forward to hosting your family and friends soon.
Like a Dream
Wow just wow. The house is not only beautiful but fully equipped with all you need. But my favorite part was the backyard. The creek and mountains right behind make you feel as if you were in a dream. The views from the bedrooms and master bathroom are mesmerizing. This was the best vacation location we’ve ever had and are looking forward to create many more memories here to come! What a great experience.❤️
I wish I'd had a chance to speak with you; however, I also respect your wishes to be silent and in the moment.
Thank you very much for your most kind comments. I'm grateful that others feel the same way as I do now and the first time we were there.
We certainly look forward to you staying with us again.
