fun family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed a fun-filled spring break in this lovely home. The cabin more than comfortably slept my husband and I, and our girls, ages 4, 9 and 12. It was cozy and well appointed as well as spacious--- so nice to have the main floor living room, the porches, AND the basement level living space---something for everyone. We enjoyed meals at the dining table, as well as the picnic table on the sundeck. Needless to say the girls loved the hot tub!

The location of the cabin is wonderful, a short drive to quaint downtown Blue Ridge with adorable shops and varied dining, and even closer to a myriad of gorgeous hiking trails (Aska Trails). We enjoyed horseback riding, hiking, dining at Harvest in Blue Ridge, riding the train to McCaysville, mini-golf and gem mining in Lily Pad Village, gorgeous Blue Ridge Lake, etc, etc.

And at the end of each day of adventure we returned to View from the Top and enjoyed the comfort, the views, and the peace of Blue Ridge!

The perfect mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we pulled up we knew we chose the right place to spend the 4th of July! Faye was a great host and easy to communicate with. The cabin was just as described however, the pictures do no do it justice. The interior was just as stunning and breathtaking as the views. We watched fireworks from the porch that were shot off from the Blueridge Marina, shopped the beautiful towns of Blueridge and Elijay, took a train ride on the Blueridge Senic Railway, swam in lake Blueridge, and even went tubing on the Toccoa River! Make sure you are home by sundown to take in stunning show the sun puts on each evening as it sets over the Blueridge Mountains. The cabin is conveniently located close to town and anything you would want to do. I would highly recommend this cabin if you are looking to rent in Blueridge.

Property is Beautiful and Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

I have to start off by saying, that I am not a planner and literally sent a request to these owners at 11pm the night before we embarked on our journey to Blue Ridge. Owners are supposed to have 24 hrs to accept or deny your request. As you can see, this was less than 24 hrs upon our arrival. Around 9:50 am, I decided to call the owner, Don & Faye, as we were already driving up to Blue Ridge to see if they could accommodate the 4 us. Faye explained they had someone departing that same day. However, she would see if her cleaner could get in and have it ready for our arrival around 7pm. I explained that if she couldn't have it ready that day, we would gladly check in the following day. She called me back a couple hours later and said it would be ready! We were so grateful and my 2 boys were so excited. I even extended our stay by one day and she drove an hour to meet me, at the cabin, so I could sign the documents and give her the money for the extra day. The cabin is in perfect condition and every cooking utensil you would need is available. Beds were comfortable and my kids loved the downstairs bunk beds and Wii. I even appreciated that they left condiments, in the extra fridge, so I didn't have to purchase them for our short stay. I know some people would never use what was left over from other guests, but if it's not expired and in a bottle, I say, leave it for the next guest. The town of Blue Ridge is so quaint and adorable. We loved visiting the downtown area for dinner. Was disappointed at how early everything closed, but at least we were able to find some very good restaurants. Some of our favorites were Southern Charm(Sooo good), Christy Lees Courtyard Grill (Yummy Seafood), Masseria(Great Pizza & Italian), Chesters(Best wings I have ever eaten) and if you want an amazing Burger, you must go to Sue's Cafeteria and Ice Cream Parlor! Fresh to order burgers and they are soooo good! I wish we could've tried more places , but we ran out of time. As a family we enjoyed the 1.5 hour tube ride down the Toccoa River, 1hr horse back riding, We found Long Creek Falls(was not easy, per the directions, and the drive was 5 miles down a dirt road with LOTS of pot holes, then you hiked 1.5miles to the falls), Enjoyed the new Adventure in the Air park(Great obstacles for all levels), enjoyed a little putt putt and one evening we ended at the Swan Drive In(A Must). Blessed to see a couple deer around the property too! Loved it

Very nice stay

  • 4 of 5

Close to both downtown Blue Ridge and Lake Blue Ridge. The house was very clean and comfortable. The three bedrooms were on separate floors so everyone had privacy. The third floor bedroom did not have window coverings on the double doors. That meant that a lot of light started coming in at sunrise The views were good but would be better in winter and fall. Trees have started to screen the decks.

The road up to the cabin is a bit of an adventure. It's very narrow and twisted. We only met someone coming in the opposite direction twice and both times we had a driveway to pull off into to.

Overall a very nice place and we all enjoy d our stay immensely
