Great location!

  • 4 of 5

Pros: The location was perfect! 2 blocks to the waterfront, 1 block to the trolley, very close to stores and restaurants and attractions. Def DO NOT need a car, UBERs are everywhere and very affordable, as are the bikes and scooters. Farmers Market every Saturday right outside the back door. Anthony was very receptive, gave great tips and answered our texts right away.

Cons: Tight space, would not say it sleeps 6. We were 5 adults (3 adults and 2 teenagers) and it was cramped. The bed sleeps 2, the pull out couch sleeps 2, and the air mattress would sleep 2. BUT, the air mattress (both of them) did not hold air, and when inflated, between that and the pull out couch, took up the majority of the first floor. Very small bathroom. Very tight space for cooking. We were right in the middle of everything, which means we heard everything and everyone on the street in the overnight hours and starting at 6 am each morning. Also, unit opens right to street, so you were either indoors or on the patio. On the patio, again ground level, corner, so people would stand on the corner and smoke, people walking dogs and dogs used the bathroom right there. All seating arrangements were set up for 4 - the outside furniture, and the (2) 2 seat bistro tables indoors. Suggestion would be for Anthony to include info on the trolley and bus system and parking, local restaurants, closest laundry and food market, when garbage pick-up was, local events and attractions, how to close up after the week, etc.

Overall, great place, beautiful, right in the middle of everything. I would say this is perfect for 4 adults, who will not be spending a lot of time indoors, who do not plan on cooking in, aside from breakfast. I am used to renting houses for the week, and live in a residential area with space around me, so I was out of my element staying in a city.

This was a great place

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place exactly what we needed. It had everything, the location couldn’t be better for someone experiencing San Diego for the first time. Being only a minute walk away from little Italy was just brilliant.

Great Location in Little Italy

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in this condo for a week at the start of February. Location is absolutely perfect as within walking distance to many great restaurants, bars and shops in little Italy. Living space is very comfortable with an outdoor patio. Saturday morning the farmers market is right outside the door.

This unit does not have a washer and dryer. It did not effect the quality of our stay , but may if you are traveling with a larger group or kids.

Road noise is noticeable after 7am in the morning. Again, this did not effect our stay as we were always up early to discover the many great things San Diego has to offer. I would suggest turning on the fan to drown out some of the noise if you are a light sleeper. Being in close proximity to the train tracks and airport was not a problem.

This unit does not come with a parking space. There are outdoor lots located within about a 3min walk away. Cost is around $15-$20 per day. We lucked out and found free parking on the street directly west of the condo for the 2 days we had a car. If your not traveling far distances, uber is a great option as well.

If you coming to San Diego for great food, and want the and to see the sites, this place is for you. Would recommend, and stay here again.

Satisfactory. Not great.

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay and our host was very responsive to our requests. The unit was described as accommodating 6. This was misleading. There is only one bedroom and it's upstairs in a loft with no bathroom. There is a sofa bed for two in the living area, but no privacy. We asked where another 2 people would sleep and host told us there was an air mattress. (I don't know where it would have been put if someone needed to use it.) Location is great and convenient to the things we were interested in visiting. $5 Uber or Lyft to Balboa Park and walked to dining in Little Italy. Grocery store and pharmacies nearby in neighborhood. Some concern about homeless people in the area but security was not an issue and some noise from busy traffic. We never felt uncomfortable. Host has only been managing this unit for four months so there were still some bugs to be worked out. Overall it was a satisfactory, but not great, experience for us. Think there are better options in San Diego..

Owner's Response: Frank was a great guest and it was great meeting them over at the loft! They were the nicest people and I would be happy to have them back... With that being said, when booking nightly rentals, guests should be sure to read the entire description of the property to ensure that it would fit their specific needs. I don't find that I mislead Frank, or any other guest, as I have it specifically listed that it is a 1 bedroom loft. Regarding the bathroom upstairs, the pictures I thought clearly showed that I do not have a bathroom up there, and I have it listed as 1 bathroom. And unfortunately, if you plan on staying in downtown San Diego, you will have homeless people wandering around. This is true at San Diego's 4 and 5 star resorts as well.
