Enjoy a Weekend or Weekday Get-A-Way at this Lakefront Cozy Cabin!!
About Peggy Strand
We purchased our first cabin on Nelson Lake in October of 2014, initially intended for investment property only. Immediately we grew to love the people and area so much that we took it off the rental market to enjoy for ourselves. As we were spending more and more time here, in October of 2016 we decided to purchase a larger cabin on Nelson Lake therefore renting the first cabin purchase. Most recently we have decided to purchase another rental cabin so that we are able to share the Hayward, WI - Nelson Lake experience with so many more visitors for years to come. Please enjoy the cabin as if it were your own and make some lifelong memories with your family and friends!

Why Peggy Strand chose Hayward
Nelson Lake is approximately 3300 acres in size. 'The Big Island' is a 600 acre island that you can actually travel around by boat. Very Beautiful! With 31 miles of shoreline, 50% of which is undeveloped - Nelson boasts some of the best bass fishing in Northern Wisconsin. Walleye, pan fish, and pike are abundant. There are 7 bar and grills located on Nelson. 6 of which you can access by boat. A snowmobile trail is located directly in front of the cabin with thousands of miles to explore. Never a dull moment.
What makes this Cabin unique
The bright morning sunrises are gorgeous on Nelson Lake. Enjoy a cup of coffee and take a walk around the lake. Nelson Lake is a beautiful lake spring - summer - fall and winter. Come and explore today!

Incredible view, declining accommodations
The best thing about this cabin is the view of the lake. You are a stone's throw away and can see the whole bay. The inside is ok. The bathroom is nice. The kitchen was missing a number of key items that were supposed to be there. The bedroom had a full size bed that was well worn and a ceiling fan that clicked when it ran. It does have air conditioning and a newer floor.
The property was a nice fit for our first time staying in Hayward. It was nice to be able to take our dogs with also. It was clean and the bathroom was a fair size with a good shower. Only complaints are that it mentions a porch on the site but it was just a utility room. We used it to store some of our things. No working outlets in the bedrooms either.
It was very accommodating for our family and we enjoy being close to the water. Would stay there again.
Great little place!
It was a cute little cabin. We enjoyed our stay. Only negative... they did not have any towels of any kind, which wasn’t a big deal, but would have been nice to know ahead of time.
Thank you Echoe, I'm glad you enjoyed the cabin. I apologize for the inconvenience of no towels, we do list as NOT providing towels on the amenities when you book your stay. However, we are on premise most all the time though so if guests forget to brings some we are more than happy to provide some. :)
Cozy cabin on beautiful lake
My wife and I had a great time cross country skiing in Hayward and then warming up in the cozy cabin at night. Great location for winter activities and accommodating owners! Thanks for a great weekend! Jim Y.
Thank you Jim, we're so glad you enjoyed your stay, come back to see us anytime!
Great cabin right on the lake!
A very well kept cabin right on the lake! I would definitely stay again. Both bedrooms were nice size with comfortable beds. The log style futon was also very comfortable. I stayed 3 weeks from Jan15 to Feb4. Temps reaching -30below and the cabin was well heated. Good parking for snowmobile trailers. Wish i had some pictures of the sunset from the living room windows.
Thank you Ed, we're glad you enjoyed your stay with us, come back to see us anytime! Hope you had a good trip back home!
