Rustic beauty by the water

  • 4 of 5

Poet's loft is very lovely, rustic home, on the water. If you are looking for a serene, comfortable and relaxing stay, you will have found it. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped for cooking, the hot tub was excellent, and our favorite place was sitting by the windows overlooking the bay. Nature was all around us. I wish I had brought my iPod because I could have listened to my own music, but the system they have is great. If you are older, the stairs and step-in bath tub may be a little uncomfortable, but we found them doable and not a problem. By the way, check out the hours of Tomales Bay oysters and Hog Island oysters, but, this is where to buy fresh oysters! Tomales Bay, Marshall and Pt Reyes are California jewels!

My 4th amazing stay at the Poet's Loft

  • 5 of 5

I am so happy to have had the chance to stay here 4 times now. By the time we turned the key in the front door, muscle memory had kicked us into total relaxation mode. We literally wake up, sit on the couch and read books (place is full of great mystery novels) and watch the tide go out and come in, eat on the porch, watch the sun set, move over to the couch across from the wood stove, make a fire and read our books, soak in the hot tub, go to sleep and start it all over again. In between maybe a nice drive and hike, walk to Hog Island for oysters, into Point Reyes Station for wine. The decor is simple and beautiful, owners are honest and available if you need them, location is stunning, couldn't ask for anything more.
