From the initial booking to the end of our stay, MJ was helpful and did everything to ensure that our stay was wonderful. MJ was so kind as to leave us sausage and bacon made from one of their animals. (The smoked bacon was the best we have ever had!) He knew that we were driving in at night and offered to meet us and guide us to the cabin if we needed. He even called the cabin the next morning to make sure all was well.
We arrived at the cabin after dark, and even though it is in a rural location, Google maps did an excellent job of guiding us. The cabin was cozy and impeccably clean. The beds were comfortable and had smooth, soft sheets. The view outside of the cabin was spectacular. It is surrounded by many trees and you can see the shimmering river in the distance. We encountered all types of creatures around the cabin from a tortoise to a frog, five deer, and even a possum late one evening. The setting of the cabin was so serene; the only noises were the pleasant sounds of birds and occasionally a few cows in the distance. (With the doors closed, there were no sounds loud enough to be bothersome in any way.) At night, it was beautifully silent. The view of the night sky was unparalleled, even if you aren't a stargazing aficionado. It was unbelievable how many stars and planets could be seen that it almost seemed surreal.
If you are looking for peace and relaxation off the grid, this is definitely the place to be. We had zero cell coverage at the cabin (there is a land line for emergencies), so this was a wonderful opportunity to disconnect. Have no fear - there is a television with satellite service, if you need something to do at night or on a rainy day. For those who enjoy nature and long for tranquility outside of your busy life, we would highly recommend this lovely little cabin in the woods.
Thank you for the wonderful review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Come back if you ever get up this way again we would love to have you. Thank you for taking such good care of the cabin.
Beautiful cabin inside and out. Had the best time and enjoyed fishing on the creek and at the lake. Will be back!!! M J was very helpful and informative about the area and there really are catfish at catfish cove.
Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for cleaning the cabin it was like nobody had even been there. Come back and see us if you ever need a break from Pine Bluff.
We spent a week there and couldn't have been more pleased, the cabin is beautiful inside and out, and the area very quiet... also the host were very accommodating, and did all they could to make our stay enjoyable.... Lake Ouachita is a hidden treasure, with almost endless coves to explore. We highly recommend this place for those looking for peace and quiet!
Glad you enjoyed the cabin. Lake Ouachita is a very nice place your right on that. Thanks for taking care of the cabin. Congratulations on your marriage and hope for a long and happy one.
Beautiful inside and out!! Peaceful and serene.
This cabin completely surpassed our expectations. The scenery is beautiful and so was the cabin. This is the place to come if you just want to getaway from it all. This cabin offers access right to the river and tons of beautiful scenery. It’s close to town if you need anything.
We will definitely recommend this cabin. MJ was a great host and gave us a list of things we could go do. Thank you MJ.
Thank you for the review. Thanks also for the gifts you left at the cabin. Thank you for the condition you left the cabin in we appreciate it. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and got to enjoy some of the attractions this area has to offer. Come back and see us again. Thanks
Well-equipped with modern appliences, newly built, cozy secluded cabin. There is a nice fishing deck on the river. Nearby resort has kayaks for rent. The lady that owns the resort is a source of information - she gave us quite a few useful tips. It is about 30 mins drive to the lake with lots of hiking trails, access to water, and cafes. Hot Springs is about an hour drive and is worth visiting especially the bath houses. Overall I would recommend this cabin as great getaway for hectic city life
Thanks for the review Efim. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Come back and see us again.
Cute, clean, and right on the river
Lovely cabin with great river access and a place that rents canoes next door. This is a place to get away from it all!
Glad you enjoyed your stay. Please come back and stay again.
