Calm and spacious apartment
We had a pleasant stay at Mr Jacobs' place in St Marys. It was within walking distance of the docks and Cumberland ferry. One improvement that could be made is to add some new cups and glasses.
Clean and cozy apartment in a great little town
We stayed here for 3 nights on our drive up to New Hampshire from Key West. It's in the back part of the owner's house, is spacious (1000 square feet) with an amply equipped kitchen, comfortable California King bed, good sized living/dining room and bathroom (with a washer and drier) and a front porch with a nice view out through the live oaks to the neighborhood beyond. The owner Charlie is extremely personable and very helpful and took us on his boat over to Cumberland Island and back for a reasonable price when the ferry was full. The charming little downtown is a short walk away and all of this for a very reasonable price. We'll be back!
Excellent place for a long stay
Excellent place for a long stay, large rooms, comfortable furniture, big screen tv, well furnished kitchen, the only thing We needed was an immersion blender. St Mary’s is a quiet town, we came to read and thaw. Great time!
A charming and comfortable place to stay
My husband and I with our dog spent most of January 2018 in the Rivergazer and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spartment that just oozed character. The location was perfect for a stroll to the waterfront or to the unique shops in downtown St. Marys. The ferry to Cumberland Island was about an 8 minute walk. The moment we walked in the door we instantly felt at home and pleased that we had selected this vacation rental. The dining room table was set with placemats, beautiful dishes, cutlery and cloth serviettes. The decor throughout was tasteful, the apartment spacious and the furniture very comfortable. The open concept dining room/living room was much larger that the photographs appeared in the listing. Charlie was a gracious host who thoughtfully provided basic essentials. He was very approachable and quite interesting. At the end of our stay we offered a few minor suggestions for his consideration and he was quite open to them. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who appreciates charming old homes in a small interesting and friendly coastal town.
You guys are too nice. Thanks for the kind words.
So much more than I imagined
The price was more than great for the accommodations! Everything was very neat and clean which are big issues in my book! The host, was there to help me if I needed anything at all. If you're lucky he'll take you for a ride on the boat, just make sure to make him take money for his gas and time. He also gave us a great tour on his golfcart which was also completely unexpected. The town is adorable and I'm definitely planning a trip back to check out some more of the area and hopefully make it over to Cumberland Island.
