Tuscan River Ranch is a 10-acre riverfront ranch and estate with Tuscan flair, located in the heart of upper Northern California where outdoor recreational opportunities are unlimited. Situated in a rural area of Red Bluff, California, away from the hustling and bustling of city life, but yet conveniently 10 minutes off of Interstate 5, Tuscan River Ranch is a vacation oasis to visitors and guests.
From our tree-lined horseshoe driveway, white rail fences and astonishing vine-covered front of the 4,000 square-foot two-story stone and stucco home to the stoned walkway/patio and fountain courtyard, you will be in awe by the reminiscent of a Tuscan estate. Custom craftsmanship of this stunning home includes extensive cherry kitchen cabinets; skylights and large garden window; a spacious gourmet kitchen with raised marble counters, large island with bar and top-of-the-line appliances; beautifully finished curving stairs and banisters to the upstairs loft; birds-eye maple and other inlaid wood floor; and custom stone work throughout. On the main floor there is a gracious and open two-story entry, cathedral-ceiling living room with a gas log fireplace, dining room, ensuite master bedroom, and two other bedrooms, each with a bath. Downstairs rooms open on to porches or covered verandah running the back side of the home and overlooking the Sacramento River.
Tuscan River Ranch is a private vacation home that combines resort-like amenities and unlimited outdoor recreations like no other. Within minutes of the property you will find trophy trout fishing and salmon run in the Sacramento River Bend, 25 miles of trails for horseback riding and mountain biking along with wildlife such as river otters, beavers, herons, osprey, bald eagles, deer, wild pigs and many more on thousands of acres of BLM land. Other nearby attractions and activities include world class fishing, water skiing, wake-boarding, tubing and jet skiing, boating, house boating, camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, sailing, paddleboarding, horseback riding, bird-watching and championship golfing – all on or around Lake Almanor, Lake Shasta and Whiskeytown Lake.
Looking for natural wonders, you will discover the wonder and mysteries of volcanoes and steaming fumaroles in Lassen Volcanic National Park, the network of caves made entirely of limestone and a wide variety of rock formations in Lake Shasta Caverns, and the magnificent Burney Falls that was once declared by President Theodore Roosevelt as “the Eighth Wonder of the World”.
There are manmade wonders too. Only 32 miles from the ranch is Sundial Bridge, a functional work of art and a technical marvel as well. For a day trip, you can visit Napa Valley, one of the world’s premier viticultural regions and famous for its prized Cabernet Sauvignon. Find world class restaurants, take a hot air balloon ride or go on a wine tour. Enjoy the Napa Valley Wine Train for a memorable experience that echoes the glory days of train travel, with fine dining service, multiple course meals, Napa Valley scenery and ultimate relaxation aboard exquisitely restored vintage rail cars. And nearby Napa is Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, a 135-acre animal theme park for your children to enjoy.
Love winter sports? You’ve got it. Mt. Shasta offers 425 acres of skiable terrain and 32 trails. You can also enjoy snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snow tubing/sledding, snowmobiling or just throwing snowballs with your family at both Mt. Shasta and Lake Almanor Basin.
Prefer to stay in? Our onsite, resort-like amenities and activities will keep you and your family enjoyably busy. We offer basketball, volleyball, badminton, archery and air-soft targets, bicycles, fishing poles, open range for golf driving, outdoor barbeque, campfire, walking/jogging and horseshoe toss. And coming soon are a swim spa and table tennis. Most of these amenities are complimentary, and some need to be arranged ahead of time.
Also, be sure to find out what fun events are happening— like the Redding Marathon, Kool April Nites, Shasta Lemurian Classic, Give Me Wings Century ride (one of the most challenging in CA!) and the Salmon Festival (Forbes ranks Redding as the only West Coast city among the Top 10 fishing destinations in North America).
Northern California is a playground for all seasons, for all ages and any lifestyle. Whatever your pleasure, the result of your stay at our Tuscan River Ranch will be something understated and exceptional.
