About the property

A fisherman's paradise

Book your dates for scallop season! This spacious, clean, and newly renovated house is on a canal off of the Withlacoochie river, just a few minutes from the Gulf from boat or car. We're situated across from a preserve which offers plenty of privacy and hiking trails. Bring your boat and tie up to our private dock on a deep water canal or use the supplied kayaks (2) to explore the area waters. Wildlife abounds, it's truly amazing! . Yankeetown is quintessential Old Florida, and we're located in a nice quiet neighborhood.

About Jim

Hi there!,

My name is Jim and we bought this house a few years ago because we LOVE the water and fishing. This is truly paradise if that's what you like too.

We're relatively new to AirBnB but have found it to be such a rewarding experience so far. We have had nothing but positive experiences with our guests and look forward to hosting for many years to come. Our main goal is that you have a pleasant stay. It's so nice that we get to share our house with people and let them see what the REAL Florida looks like. So quiet and beautiful.

Paddle down the canal a short way and float down the Withlacoochie river and see how it looks as it did hundreds of years ago. Keep an eye out for the abundant wild life, especially the manatee and gators. If you LOVE fishing like we do, bring your boat and tie up to our dock or hire a guide for a day or half a day and have a blast. I'm sure you'll enjoy yourselves here and look forward to hosting your stay. We believe in letting people have their space and you probably won't even meet us face to face, but rest assured we are in constant contact if you need something or have a question.

We loved the house and the area.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property for a quiet place to honeymoon. We enjoyed the noise free atmosphere and the house was clean and everything we needed was provided. There was a store about 3 miles away. The ocean was just down the road and the sunsets were beautiful. Totally a beautiful week. We plan to come back and would like to stay longer. There was a lot to do within a short drive. It was so nice to have a home to come back to after exploring the area. It sure beats staying in a hotel. The owner resolved our issue immediately after we locked ourselves out one night. One text and he responded immediately. We will return.

Beautiful home and spot for some quiet relaxation. Saw 6 manatees by the dock the first morning. Did some kayaking with the kayaks there and that was great. House is clean and well appointed. Jim was great and provided information easily. Thanks!

Perfect get away

Beautiful weather, the house was very nice - had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the dock watching alligators and dolphins each morning. We also went fishing two days with the guide that Jim recommended - had two awesome days of fishing.

This two bedroom house has been nicely updated with a modern kitchen, comfortable living area and comfortable beds. There is easy access to the water with seating on the dock and lawn chairs provided. The house is on a quiet street just around the corner from The Yankeetown marina area. Be sure to eat at Blackwater Grill.
