Guestbook comments from the owner

Dave: Thank you for this quiet, peaceful home away from home You have done a wonderful job of providing for all our needs. It has been fun to explore the drawers and closets and each time finding a treasure we could use and enjoy, from matches to clothespins and everything in between! My daughters enjoyed seeing your hyderangres out front and getting to stay in an actual Cape Cod home! They left with tons of Christmas Tree Shop stuff! We all had a great trip and the day viewing the whales was just a special time. Theyput on a special performance just for us! The weather has been great and even when it rained it did not deter us from anything. Even walking though the mud at the Harwich Cranberry Festival was a treat! Thank you for sharing this home with us and trusting us to take care of it. May your life be always blessed. Jane

Tremendous location and exceptional rental for those with young children

  • 5 of 5

We will be returning to this home for our third summer vacation and since we discovered this gem, we have not looked to rent anywhere else. In fact, we book the house immediately after our vacation is over for the next summer. With that being said, you can infer that the usual accompaniments are all in perfect order. The owner is professional and responsive in all matters. The expected items one imagines to be present at the home are all in perfect order and available. Everything is considered for all demographics of users of the home. But what makes this place even more special, is the location. Literally steps to a private beach that when it reaches high tide, you can walk out into the ocean what feels like a mile from the beach and have the water no more than hip high. For someone with young kids, its such a pleasure to be able to watch them from the sandy beach and know they are safe. When the water recedes, another wonderland of fun emerges as the kids try and catch fish, small crabs and other sea life. We have spent hours enjoying this pleasure and to be able to walk back and forth from the beach to the house in a matter of short minutes, makes vacationing in the cape such a true pleasure.

Should you want a little more, the public veterans beach is literally separated by a rock jetty, so you can just walk maybe another 50 yards to a more traditional beach area with lifeguards playground and other accompaniments. This adds a nice twist should you want to swim in deeper water.

Another benefit of this home's location is the proximity to the ferries to the islands and the restaurants byt he harbor. easily accessible by walking less than a quarter mile to reach the Bismore Park area and peruse the local vendors in the area or grab a drink, ice cream or a bite to eat on the water. Main St Hyannis is not much furtehr off depending on how much you like to walk, maybe another half mile away at most

Best Family Vacation ever

  • 5 of 5

As a long time Cape cod summer renter, this past vacation to Hyannis was by far our favorite and most enjoyable. The owner of the house was very accessible and approachable via phone or email and her description of the property and amenities was pot on. The main reason for our booking of this location was the advertisement for a private beach only 100 yards from the house. We were naturally curious about this point and to say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The private beach was phenomenal. Quiet, convenient and most importantly for us with small children, shallow and placid due to a natural sandbar that allows one to walk out for almost 100 yards and not be in water higher than your waist. At low tide you can catch minnows or small crabs or just wade in very warm ankle deep water and enjoy the views. The location is within a 20-30 min walk to main street Hyannis as well as a 5 minute skip to the boats going out to the islands. Plenty of dining options close by as well.

The house itself was fully stocked, well maintained and carefully arranged. There is a locking garage adjacent to the breezeway that is stocked with chairs and other accessories and has plenty of room available for bikes and other storage. It was a welcome addition to the demands of our vacation.

Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better place to spend 2 weeks on the Cape.

Wonderful house for a young family!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely house with our three young children (6, 4 and 2). The large fenced yard, the three bedrooms, the 3-minutes walk to the beach and the location were incredible. Moreover, the house was impressively stocked! Nothing missed. Last but not least, the owner was really helpful and easy to reach through text messages.Everything was perfectly and precisely described.

We recommend to everyone this house for sure!

Great place

  • 4 of 5

The house is compact but very clean and very artfully and tastefully decorated. The location is perfect, egg quick five minute walk to restaurants and the ferries. Home had all the amenities you could need plus additional toys for the children.

Perfect Location - Great for Families

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I chose this house because the reviews mentioned how close to everything the house was and we were not disappointed. We have two young children (2 & 5) and we wanted to be walking distance to the beach and shops.

The beaches are very close. There is a private beach around the corner from the house (about 100 feet). It takes about a minute to talk to and connects to Veterans Beach which has a small playground and concession stand. The water is shallow, warm, and calm - perfect for young children to play in. Connecting the private and public beach is a little inlet of water full of hermit crabs and minnows which our children loved exploring. Kalmus Beach is about a 15 minute walk from the house which has a clam shallow bay side and a rougher ocean side.

We were able to walk to shops and restaurants easily. It is a 5 minute walk to the harbor which has several good restaurants, the ferry, and artists shanties. It was so nice to be able to walk out your door and have a great meal overlooking the water or to take the kids to watch the boats come and go. You can catch the HyLine ferry, harbor tours, or (my kids favorite) the pirate cruise from there. This is all connected to Main Street which is about 20 minutes away and is full of great restaurants and shops. At night, Main Street buzzes with activity.

The house is in much more charming than the pictures show. It's bright, cute, and comfy. The kitchen and bathroom are updated and the home is laid out well. There are large windows with plenty of light, but the trees offered privacy. The bedrooms were cute and had enough space. It was stocked with everything you would need. It really did feel "homey" and comfortable - not old or outdated. The side yard was huge and offered a lot of space for the kids to run around. Given the price, you really can't beat the location and the amenities. We would be happy to stay at the same home again in the future.

In addition to the private beach there are also two public beaches close by (Veterans Beach and Kalmus Beach) You are also within walking distance of the Kennedy Memorial, the Hyannis Yacht Club and Hyannis Harbor. Hyannis Harbor offers fishing & sailing charters, sightseeing cruises and ferries to the Islands of Nantucket & Martha's Vineyard.

The Hyannis Harbor Hawks, the local team for the Cape Cod baseball league, play at McKeon Field, which is just a 5-10 minute walk from the house. The Cape Cod baseball league; a breeding ground for major leaguers; the season extends from June to mid August. Some 190 graduates of the program played in the major leagues last year.

Departing from Hyannis center( ten minute walk) is a scenic tour aboard the Cape Cod Railroad; the two hour tour passes cranberry bogs, marshes, the seacoast and Cape Cod Bay. Another attraction in Hyannis center is the Cape Cod Melody Tent where stars such as Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin and

Lyle Lovett perform. Much to do and enjoy!!!!
