PRIVATE STRUCTURE. La Gelosa is an early 20th century farmhouse situated in what was once the estate of Villa Salimbeni, heritage of fine arts. In the past the farmhouse had the typical subdivision of country properties with stables on the ground floor and the farmer's living quarters on the first floor. The farmhouse was carefully restored in 2008 using salvaged materials typical of the area. In fact, characteristic elements, such as the original terracotta flooring on the first floor, can be noted. La Gelosa is situated in the Siena countryside, on the border with the Val d'Orcia, and has splendid views over all the surrounding hills. It is a property suitable for those wishing to relax, immersing themselves in the typical Tuscan atmosphere without, however, forgoing visits to the many characteristic villages and towns like Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano and Montalcino.
La Gelosa is divided into two apartments that spread over two floors. On the left side of the main entrance on the ground floor is the large equipped kitchen, furnished with two dining tables. On the right side of the entrance is the big living room with fireplace. Both these rooms have direct access to outside. Under the stairs leading up to the first floor is a bathroom with shower. The first floor of this apartment comprises the sleeping area composed of a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with tub and shower and a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower. The second apartment, on the first floor, is reached by an external stone staircase. The living area is composed of a sitting/dining room with fireplace and kitchenette. From the sitting room a corridor leads to two double bedrooms, both with en-suite bathroom with shower. Great care to detail has been taken over the decor to guarantee the best possible comfort to the guests.
The entire property covers about 2 hectares, cultivated mainly with olives and arable fields. The area surrounding the house and pool is covered by an English lawn of about 500 square metres. One of the two main sides of the house has many shaded areas thanks to the presence of tall trees. The garden overlooking the valley is provided with pergola, tables, chairs and living area. The park is completed by a vegetable garden available for the guests.
The pool with salt purification, about 15 metres from the farmhouse, is sited in a panoramic position and is reached by a natural ramp. It measures 3 x 10 m with a depth varying from 1,20 to 1,40 m. The pool border, like the paving surrounding it, is in sun gold stone whilst the pool lining is in sand coloured PVC. The rest of the pool area is planted with lawn and is provided with a gazebo, table, chairs, deckchairs, sun loungers and cold water shower. It is available to guests from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.
