Nestled in spruce and aspen trees, this cozy log home is perfect for your summer getaway. It is secluded, yet very accessible year round. Every window in the house has a beautiful view of the 14,000 foot mountains surrounding Lake City. Relax on the back porch that runs the length of the house while listening to the roar of the Argenta Falls waterfall off the back of the property.
The quaint town of Lake City is only four miles away, while beautiful Lake San Cristobal is within walking distance of only 1/2 miles. Public fishing is plentiful around Lake City if you want to fish for trout in the streams or lake. We have easy access to the Alpine Loop and you can drive straight from our house on your ATVs.
The cabin has 2 bedrooms and one bath with an open floor plan upstairs, plus a mother-in-law efficiency apartment downstairs. Each level is complete with a bath, full kitchen and washer/dryer.
The mountains have been a part of our entire married life. Gail vacationed always in Colorado as a child growing up and still remembers trips that were made by her family in Lake City. After renting for several years, we finally 'stumbled upon' our lovely cabin at Argenta Falls. We absolutely love the peace and solitude as well as the beauty. Being so close to the Falls makes sitting on the back porch serene, and a walk to Lake San Cristobal gives us the opportunity to view one of the most beautiful lakes in Colorado. We are still working, so we are happy to share our home with others who love Lake City as we do. Alvie & Gail Burdine, Arlington, Texas

We loved the Falls, the private feel of the property, and the back porch and patio.
Private Falls that only visitors can access. Listening to the Falls from the outside of the cabin is very calming and just what is needed versus the city traffic and noise. Also, Argenta Falls was declared to be one of the outstanding water falls in Colorado before it became private. Our visitors can view it.
Thanks you so much for allowing us to use your beautiful cabin for our mini honeymoon! It was such a relaxing, beautiful place. The Falls are wonderful, and we enjoyed the stress-free environment.
The Argenta Falls Cabin was a great homey place to stay during our visit in Lake City. The quiet location on the Alpine Loop is close enough to town for supplies and food. It was also a good starting place for exploring the mountains. We loved being able to hear the falls from the cabin. The cabin was clean and comfortable. It had a good internet connection which is a must for my photographer husband to download his photos. Visited Oct 2015
Great place overall and we had a wonderful stay. Two things that were meaningful drawbacks in our opinion, but probably not an issue for many, were that blinds in bedrooms did not block any light so rooms were very bright first thing in AM, and there is no dishwasher.
I goto Lake City at the end of summer each year. This cabin is spacious, modern electronics and walking distance to a beautiful secluded water fall. It is like having a home in the San Juans. The directions to the property were spot on and the place was immaculate. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend.
The cabin was well equipped and clean as expected. The location is convenient to outdoor adventures and Lake City activities and restaurants. The falls were absolutely amazing. We hiked most of the way to Handies Peak but had to turn back because of so much snow still on the ground near the top part of the trail. The American Basin is always a sight to see. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us.
Absolutely the best vacation. Argenta Falls Cabin was perfect. Loved the location, secluded, on the Alpine Loop, yet just 10 minutes to Lake City. Cabin was clean, well equipped with everything you need. Loved the large porch for morning coffee or relaxing after a full day exploring. We hiked Handies Peak, Jeeped the Alpine Loop, Kayak on Lake San Cristobal, Moose stalked at Deer Lakes, Horseback rides at Vickers Ranch, Michael Martin Murphy outdoor concert at the Sportsman Gas Station. Small town filled with so much to do. Will be back again.
My husband and I enjoyed every aspect of staying here. All of the personal touches at the cabin made it even more cozy. Lake City is awesome, most of the restaurants were closed for the season. However all the businesses that were open, made us feel extremely welcome, the owner of the art gallery even gave us a small painting as a wedding present. We were able to take many pictures of the area wildlife right there at the cabin. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Lake City is a small, beautiful little town nestled in the San Juan Mountains. It is rich with lots of wildlife, including deer, elk, bighorn sheep, and moose. Most visitors enjoy either fly fishing in the streams or fishing at Lake San Cristobal. Many love to use their ATV vehicles to explore the Alpine Loop that runs to Quray and Silverton and back. Picnicing in the beautiful summer weather is another favorite. Sitting on our back patio and looking at the beautiful star-filled sky makes you realize you are away from the city.
