About Gail Burdine

The mountains have been a part of our entire married life. Gail vacationed always in Colorado as a child growing up and still remembers trips that were made by her family in Lake City. After renting for several years, we finally 'stumbled upon' our lovely cabin at Argenta Falls. We absolutely love the peace and solitude as well as the beauty. Being so close to the Falls makes sitting on the back porch serene, and a walk to Lake San Cristobal gives us the opportunity to view one of the most beautiful lakes in Colorado. We are still working, so we are happy to share our home with others who love Lake City as we do. Alvie & Gail Burdine, Arlington, Texas

Why Gail Burdine chose Lake City

We loved the Falls, the private feel of the property, and the back porch and patio.

What makes this house unique

Private Falls that only visitors can access. Listening to the Falls from the outside of the cabin is very calming and just what is needed versus the city traffic and noise. Also, Argenta Falls was declared to be one of the outstanding water falls in Colorado before it became private. Our visitors can view it.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks you so much for allowing us to use your beautiful cabin for our mini honeymoon! It was such a relaxing, beautiful place. The Falls are wonderful, and we enjoyed the stress-free environment.

Little piece of Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

Perfection to every detail! The waterfall, sun coming up over the mountain top, deer roaming the property, chilly mornings and pleasant sundowns; perfect for a fire in the chimanea and roasted marshmallows. We love coming to this place of tranquility. Inside; the spotless cabin; is just as pleasing from checkers on the deck to the most comfortable bed away from home west of the continental divide. We brought our motorized toys and enjoyed being able to hit the trails straight from the cabin. Didn't spot any Moose this year; guess we will have to come back next yr for a chance to spot them. Thanks to the Burdines for sharing!

Super nice cabin with major league water fall in the back yard. I miss the sound of the falls already. Access to the Alpine Loop on bikes from cabin was hassle free.

Fantastic place

  • 4 of 5

This was the most welcoming cabin we have ever visited. I was expecting more views from the porch, but they were limited by the beautiful trees. The sound of the waterfall was amazing and put us to sleep each night. We couldn't have been happier with the cabin and it would have been a great place for a group to stay. For the price, it is a little too much for just the 2 of us.

The owners are very cooperative and were vey nice and thoughtful. They worked with us on our dates as we had a last minute change. All the modern conveniences were available yet we had a relaxing, uneventful stay.

Awesome stay!!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin fit our needs perfectly for a party of four. The cabin was very clean and well stocked. The owners were excellent to deal with. Very friendly and called to see if everything was O.K. with the cabin. It was very nice to be able to atv from the property. The water falls were very easy to get to, and the view of them was indescribable. We highly recommend this cabin for your trip to Lake City!!!

Lake City is a small, beautiful little town nestled in the San Juan Mountains. It is rich with lots of wildlife, including deer, elk, bighorn sheep, and moose. Most visitors enjoy either fly fishing in the streams or fishing at Lake San Cristobal. Many love to use their ATV vehicles to explore the Alpine Loop that runs to Quray and Silverton and back. Picnicing in the beautiful summer weather is another favorite. Sitting on our back patio and looking at the beautiful star-filled sky makes you realize you are away from the city.
