Nestled at 4118 feet of elevation, this beautiful, cozy log cabin is the perfect, dog friendly location to explore Highlands. It is ideally situated to allow convenient walking to most city attractions, which include Town Square (3 blocks west), downtown restaurants and shopping (4 blocks west to Main Street), Playhouse Arts Center (almost next door, north), community pool and recreation center (at the end of the block, north).
The landscape and porches of the cabin are refreshing. Rustling water can be heard from either the front or back porches, as the cabin is bound by bubbling creeks. The front porch extends the length of the cabin and has four comfortable swivel chairs, one glider, and a swing. The back porch is smaller but is screened. It contains a day bed, adorned with pillows, partially shrouded by translucent curtains, and romantically lit in the evenings. It is flanked by a mahogany table and two rocking chairs. On it's opposite side is a small bar with two swivel stools. The view of the backyard is gorgeous.
Inside, the excitement of the cabin continues. Guests will enjoy a spacious living room, which has a gas fireplace, telephone, smart television, vintage lamps and chairs, and a custom, marble bar that seats four. The kitchen is open and fully equipped. It also adjoins the dining area, which offers antique whiskey barrel chairs and table. There are beds to accommodate seven--a queen in the master (2), double and twin trundle in the guest (3), and pull out double from the sofa (2) in the living room. Above each bed is a ceiling fan, since there is no air conditioned in this cabin. There are two full baths--one of which adjoins the master bedroom.
The home is outfitted with Highlands art, books, games, WIFI, washer/dryer, iron and board.
This cabin has been beautifully decorated and is a ideal for both couples and families looking for the perfect Highlands getaway. (No smoking is allowed inside.)
