3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 12
There’s plenty to do both in the immediate vicinity of Black Bear Overlook and in the 3-bedroom cabin itself. Located just 5 minutes from the Pigeon Forge Parkway, the town’s main thoroughfare, Black Bear Overlook is close to all the area’s attractions, from Dollywood to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. What’s more, the log cabin is filled with so many amenities, you might find yourself hoping for a rainy day so that you have time to enjoy them all.
The fun starts in Black Bear Overlook’s game room, downstairs in the lowest of the cabin’s 3 floors. Here you can choose between shooting pool at the full-size (and quite handsome) billiard table and play at the foosball table. If you’re more of a spectator, head to the home theater, settle back in one of the cinema-style seats, and watch a movie on the large flat-screen TV. Don’t forget the popcorn!
For even quieter pursuits, step out onto one of the cabin’s 3 covered decks—there’s one for each floor, each spanning the width of the home and offering awesome views of the Great Smoky Mountains. Bring a beverage and kick back on one of the rocking chairs as you watch eagles and falcons soar across the sky. Or better yet, head up to the top deck and watch the sunset over the mountains while luxuriating in the hot tub. Now this is what a Smoky Mountain vacation is all about!
A wall of windows on the main floor lets you gaze out at nature’s grandeur even while you’re relaxing in the open-plan living/dining area. Stretch out on the sofa to watch TV, curl up on the settee with your tablet to take advantage of the free WiFi, or gather by the stone-surround fireplace for après-ski drinks. The sofa, by the way, opens into a bed for 2, enabling Black Bear Overlook to sleep up to 12 guests.
The cabin’s proximity to the parkway means dozens of restaurants are just a few minutes’ drive away. But sometimes nothing beats a home-cooked meal—especially when you can look out at the mountains as you’re dining. Happily, the cabin includes a fully equipped kitchen. From a full-size oven for cooking a holiday turkey to a blender for making margaritas or milkshakes, you’ll find all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you’ll need. The dining table seats 6 people with ease, and because the chairs are so comfortable padded, you’ll want to linger long after dessert is finished. Bring your Scrabble set or card deck, and let your family dinner segue into family night.
Two of the 3 bedrooms are master suites, with a king-size bed, a flat-screen TV, and a full bathroom, making the cabin well suited for 2 couples or families vacationing together. The bedroom on the main floor has the advantage of being near the kitchen, should you have a hankering for a midnight snack. The upstairs suite includes a Jacuzzi in its bathroom, just the thing after a day of hiking, white-water rafting, or exploring every inch of the outlet shops. A ladder in the suite leads to a sleeping loft that can accommodate another 2 people.
The 3rd bedroom—and the 3rd bathroom, for that matter—is just off the game room. With a set of queen-size bunk beds, this space can sleep 4 people. If there are kids in your group, we’re sure they’ll volunteer to make this their bedroom.
Because the cabin is located in the Black Bear Ridge resort, when you stay in the summer you have an additional perk: free use of the resort’s swimming pool. Year-round, however, you can enjoy the best perk of all: the convenient location. Amusement parks, dinner theaters, golf, skiing, rafting, and more are practically right outside your door.
When you stay at Black Bear Overlook, you can do it all… or do nothing at all and simply soak up the beautiful vistas? Experience it for yourself: Book your stay today!

Overall this place gets all 5 stars. Layout was very comfortable for 12 people. Place was very nice, clean and had the most beautiful view from all 3 floors. Everything worked well except the WiFi. I’m not sure if it just an issue out there or just this place. So if you have to depend on WiFi, like I had to for work, from time to time, you may need to check on it.
Thank you for staying with us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
The cabin was off the beaten path, but easy to find. Best view of any cabin I have rented over the past 25 years. Cabin was very clean and cozy. Our grandchildren loved the theater. Would recommend cabin to anyone. The mattresses on the King beds had dips in them. You did feel like you were falling to the center.
Thank you for staying with us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
My family and I were so excited for this trip. Unfortunately, upon our arrival our excitement turned to disgust. The moment we opened the door we were greeted by the nastiest cabin I have ever stayed in ever. We vacation 3-4 times per year and this is the grossest place I've ever walked into. The cabin appeared to have been given a 30 minute quick surface clean. We arrived late, around 10:00pm so I was unable to do anything right then. Instead of our family enjoying the mountains the next day, we went to the nearest Walmart and purchased about $70 in cleaning supplies and spent the next 4 hours cleaning the place top to bottom. Yes, it was that disgusting!!! The stove top had about an inch of grime on it that came right off with a little scrubbing from an SOS pad. Not sure what cleaning agency they are using but it's not rocket science to clean a place right. This was my first time ever using this booking place and it will certainly be my last. If you book here be sure to bring your cleaning closet cause you will need it, unless you stay this next week, in which case it was left 10 times cleaner than it was found!!!!
Thank you Amanda, for taking the time to share your review. Your input, as well as all our guest feedback is vitally important as we want all guests expectations to be met upon arrival. We apologies for falling short in some area. It is not our standard to have our guests arrive at a less than clean cabin. We do have a 24/7 on call service department and housekeeping would have come out and re-cleaned the cabin. Again, thank you for sharing and we look forward to having you stay with us on your next trip to the Smokies, giving us the opportunity to exceed all expectations.
I love the Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge area
But we found floors of this cabin extremely filthy, like it had not been cleaned or rented for a long time. We had to wipe down all counter tops before trying to cook anything. They were also not clean. My 18 months old grandchild was with us and found bus on window seals and lying all over the floors around the windows. For future rentals of your properties I would try to clean them better. Also when renting a property that is to be supplied with items to cook with, most people would feel that a skillet of some kind would be supplied. There was not skillet in the premise had to fry sausage in a sauce pan for breakfast till we could get
