DIANE A HACK purchased this farmhouse in 1997

Why DIANE A HACK chose Quinby

Purchased this property twenty years ago to protect land and sea , to guard for future generations and to share with rescued animals and loved ones. The land is the site of the sacred burial ground of the Quinby Indians. There is a peaceful, healing spirit in the sea air. A BIRD WATCHERS PARADISE.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The panoramic WATER views of sunrise and sunset over Quinby set the sky on fire. Horses run free in their pastures, once sentenced to an untimely end. Life and nature take on intense meaning watching the grace and power of such creatures now rescued and set free. The stars and moon are blinding over the sea on dark nights with their purity of light. The constellations of the Northern Hemisphere guide your path on the 900 ft dock to the end of your day.

Owner's Response: We enjoyed your visit and thank you for sharing three generations of your beautiful family. We have recently upgraded our WIFI to a commercial VELOP Lynksys which covers a 2,000 foot radius. The 900 foot private dock was often enjoyed by the young fisherman of the family while the young ladies preferred the horses and took many photographs. Come back soon. Didi and Red

It was fun but with a few caveats

  • 3 of 5

I came here for Thanksgiving with some friends. Didi (Diane) and Red were very gracious and fun to chat with. In addition, the area was secluded and made for a great place for stargazing or for hearing yourself think. We also enjoyed their horses, which were friendly and hungry. The dock was fun too.

While we enjoyed our stay, the house itself just didn't feel clean. (We ended up washing almost every dish before using it.) Also, the layout of the lodge was a little strange. The room that felt like it should be the living room had two queen sized beds in it while the room that functioned as the kitchen had two full sized beds in it (there aren't any true common areas in the lodge). While the area was great because it was so isolated, no one in our group had reliable cell phone service nor does the house have WiFi (this could be a positive or a negative, depending on what you're looking for.) These shouldn't be deal breakers but potential guests should at least be aware of our experience.

Unsuspecting Paradise

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful vacation!! Not far from town but far enough to hear yourself think at night. Beautiful horses to love on while you're not fishing off the incredible dock! We caught a sting ray, crabs and 3 delicious sea trout all in one day! Didi & Red who own the place are just an utter delight to converse with and we were grateful to have had the privilege of sharing their little slice of heaven for Labor Day weekend! The house is a adorable with enough beds for the extended family! We drive to the local restaurant Red suggested and had some amazing fresh oysters on the half shell! We would love to return :) Thanks for the recharge Pearces Waterfront Lodge!
