Great Location but No Air Conditioning!
My family (2 adults and 2 teenage kids) went to Vail for the 4th of July. The location was fabulous! If you've ever been, we were right by the fire station just outside of the village. We were so excited when we pulled up!
The rental company was awesome! Super friendly and very helpful.
As I said, we went for the 4th of July so it was an added bonus that the parade went right in front of the building! The owners even had a couple of canvas chairs for us to use.
The condo has plenty of room so that was nice. It really needs some updating as the carpet has quite a few stains and the decor leaves something to be desired. The beds are very comfortable and the showers have great water pressure. The washer and dryer are in one of the bathrooms. When the dryer is running the bathroom gets very hot so keep that in mind when planning to do your laundry.
Now to the "no air conditioning"... boy, did it get warm!! We drove so were able to bring fans and, thankfully, the owners had a few fans for us to use too. Unfortunately for us, it was warmer then usual so that added to the heat and we learned(after the fact) that you leave the windows open at night and close them during the day. We kept them open all the time. The sliding doors don't have screens so we did close those at night. the loft bedroom was a sauna and the second bedroom got really hot too. The master was better due to the windows with screens ( 1 was pretty bent but still covered the window).
All in all, that was the worst of it.
Would we stay here again? YES! I would just look at the weather forecast first!
I am having the screens repaired. It has been a hot summer for us here in the mountains. I am glad you had a good time and were able to enjoy the 4th of July parade. It is the largest one in the state!
The proximity to Vail Village was awesome!
This property is not in Lionshead. It is Vail Village. It is directly across from Sonnonalp Hotel. You walk across the parking lot and street and are in vail village. The rooms are sound proof, except one of the bedrooms is upstairs in a semi open loft area. Each bedroom has 2 queen beds except the master has a king. And each bedroom has a bathroom. There is no air conditioning in the unit, but it cooled off at night so that helped! We brought our own fans. The doors need screens on the so they can be left open for air flow. Overall we had a great stay! We would definitely stay again!
Glad you had a good time. The screens were removed to get repaired. Luckily we do not really have a lot of bugs around here. Hope to see you again.
