Well presented house in beautiful setting
We loved our stay here. The house is tastefully decorated and set in lovely grounds in a quiet area. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of pots and pans, crockery, glassware and cutlery.
There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, which means you can relax whatever the weather.
The pool is well kept and there is a nice shady terrace if you find the sun too much.
There is plenty of parking including a garage and a gravel driveway behind secure gates. A car is essential but you are just a short drive (less than 10 minutes) from Carcassonne's medieval citadel and the Canal du Midi
Eric is very welcoming and helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. He was very responsive to texts and emails.
There is very little that could improve this beautiful villa except for improvement of a very slow draining shower and perhaps a welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter and toilet rolls .......the villa is 2km from the nearest supermarket and arriving at night means purchasing pre made sandwiches, long life milk and and a packet of biscuits from a petrol station until we could get to the shops the next day.
We will hopefully be back some day. Thank you Eric for a great stay.
A quiet and peaceful location close to the extraordinary medieval city of Carcassone.
A nice comfortable house with a beautiful pool which we spent many happy hours in. Lovely to
Find a property where we could take our dog who travels everywhere with us! Big enclosed garden space for her and no worries for us once the electric gate was shut! The region has a fascinating history and we made many day excursions to explore Cathar castles and the little winding roads and gorges which lead to them. Carcassone offers a wonderful backdrop and although very touristy (of course) we enjoyed some reasonable meals within its walls. Some top tips for visits are the Grottes des Limoux...unforgettable and The Four Towers. Carcassone itself is a scintillating mixture of
ancient and new. The house is situated in a very quiet gated suburb and a car is essential. The city walls are around a five minute drive away and other many amenities just outside, such as a huge shopping complex with Carrefour and Leclerc which are a short drive away. The house is fairly basic but it is clean and spacious and the outside area is great for
Swimming and family eating. Once you are in the house itself you are fairly isolated so this is a good base from which to explore the riches of the region, then come
Back to the peace of the house and just relax. The pool and house are not overlooked at all and their is a good sense of privacy. Eric is a relaxed and genial host and we enjoyed meeting him. He was also a responsive host. We arrived on Bastille day and got
To see the most fantastic fireworks display over the castle of
Carcassone. A fantastic start to our holiday. Overall, highlights were the pool and weather and getting out and about to visit the local historical sights.
Lovely stay in the house, comfortable beds, Eric the owner was really helpful. The area was lovely. A large hyper market down the road which was handy. The pool was a great asset.
Impressive all around!
We loved this villa! The location was great to see Carcassone and the surrounding area. The house itself had absolutely everything you need for vacation! The MagPies and Mourning Doves welcome each day as you sit on the terrace with coffee. It's quiet and soothing. There is a wonderful breeze that keeps things cool during the warm days. Each of the bedrooms was well appointed and comfortable. The only 'shower' is upstairs with the master bedroom but I loved taking a 'shower bath' as I don't get time to soak in the tub when not on a vacation.
Eric was a wonderful host - great communication - and answered all of our questions. My only recommendation for further improvement is some kind of a curtain or shade on the terrace so that the afternoon sun can be blocked from the dining area. Otherwise, it was absolutely perfect!
Fab location. Lovely pool. Plenty of space
Ideal if you have a car for Carcassone medieval city and new town, the lake, Narbonne and down to the Med. the house is big with lovely views and a great pool. A bit more glass furniture than wld be practical for small kids, but other than that we had a lovely stay, and Eric was a great host
lovely area and an excellent house
the area is really nice and the house and facilities were just as we'd hoped.
