About Greg McCanless
Lisa & I both hail from the hills of Tennessee although we met and married in Olympia Washington. Both having a passion for photography and nature, we decided to move to Idaho. 2 of our 3 children moved out here and introduced us the fun of rafting. So we bought a raft here, went back to Olympia, packed up, and moved here. Priorities, right? The photo above is us on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. 5 years later, we hope to start traveling more and seeing more of the country. So our house is your house now. We know you will enjoy it.
Why Greg McCanless chose North End
LOCATION! Can it get any better!? We are 1 mile north of the Capital. You can walk or bike to the Farmers market on Saturdays or enjoy a great dinner downtown anytime. The happening Hyde Park is only 2 blocks away for Coffee, wine, dining, or shopping. Parks galore around us and the Boise foothills trails start 5 blocks North East.
What makes this House unique
Clean, updated, peaceful home is a wonderful place to rally together before events or just chill out. The updated look kept in mind the simplicity of the era the home was built with its charming arched doorway and coved ceiling. All wood floor and built-in closets make for a cozy home. Warm yourself next to the gas fire stove as you watch a movie or enjoy the evening sitting out back under the large umbrella after dinner.

Great little spot right in the North End
Very cute little home, nicely redone, awesome location. Walk every morning to coffee, stroll back from wine, stumble from the bars. Easy peasy host, everything you need but a coffee maker (little joke there.)
Fantastic rental in the best part of town!
This rental was spectacular. Everything I needed was supplied and the owners were amazing! The house was clean and very spacious and one block away from Hyde Park coffee shops and restaurants. Best rental I’ve stayed at in Boise, hands down!
Jessica you are awesome! We loved hosting you and you are more than welcome back anytime. One of the best things about renting our home is meeting so many wonderful people. We hope you come back and bring your friend this time. You left the home so clean we barely knew you were here.
We enjoyed this beautiful home. Very very clean and comfortable. Perfect downtown location. Walking distance to coffee shops, pubs and stores. The homeowners were very accommodating and a pleasure to talk to. You will love this place!!
Colleen and her mom, Evelyn were such a joy to host. Such delightful people. They were clean, quite, and always upbeat. We would love to see them here again.
Wonderful house, charming and well done restoration. Really cute neighbor hood.
We really enjoyed our stay. The owners where easy to deal with and very quick to respond. The house had all the things that we needed and made our stay much more enjoyable than a hotel.
spotless clean, owners very nice and helpful. i was only there to sleep but while there location was quiet. had a tasty sandwich at hyde house resturaunt. good service too. nice location in historic area of boise. owners also occupy home with their newfoundland but have separate quarters downstairs. would recommend.
Beautiful home in a great location
Even prior to our arrival Greg was very helpful. We were traveling with our two small kids and they arranged to have a pack and play and a child seat for our son. Greg also was helpful with helping us locate a few parks for us to take our son to that had a playground. The house is a 10 min walk to Camels Hump, 30 min walk to Quinn's Pond/ Esther Simplot Park and less than a 5 min walk to Hyde Park where there are several coffee shops and bars/restaurants. We didn't walk to downtown because of the heat in early September, but you could easily reach it in about 30 min. There was never any issue finding parking right in front of the house for our car.
The house was beautifully restored with lots of charm. Everything was exceptionally clean and we wouldn't say that lightly. All of the appliances are brand new. We didn't do any cooking in the kitchen but it had everything you could possibly need. There isn't a dishwasher, but for us that wasn't an issue with our lack of cooking. The king bed in the first floor bedroom was super comfortable and our son seemed very happy in the queen bed in the other room downstairs. We didn't use the upstairs bedroom, but that looked great and had its own sitting area with desk. The bathroom was on the smaller side, but had a great shower and tub.
It was great having Greg and Lisa downstairs for anything we needed and their dog was very sweet. We would definitely rent again from them.
Jon and his family were wonderful guest and we'd love to host them again. This was our first hosting and we are excited to treat others with a comfortable environment. Jon was wonderful with staying in touch with me to any questions he had. His family was wonderful and they left our home very clean. Next time your in Boise, please look us up!
