The Chetco River in Brookings is a world class salmon fishing river. Brookings Harbor is a boating "safe harbor" with excellent crabbing. Salmon Run Golf Course is less than 5 miles away. The giant Sequoia redwoods are close by and the town of Brookings is just down the hill in front of you. There are excellent seafood restaurants and fresh seafood markets close by. There are many interesting shops and an antiques mall to explore. The local open air farmer's market is fun. Whale watching, sea and river fishing excursions are available locally and thrilling jet boat rides run on the Rogue River in nearby Gold Beach. The huge old fashioned 4th of July fireworks display over the harbor is awesome! Hike, bike or just come relax in this beautiful, friendly part of the world. Visit Azalea Park and it's fabulous Holiday Light display nightly from Thanksgiving to Christmas. The sunsets over the Pacific are spectacular year round!
Other nearby attractions: Lucky 7 Casino, Azalea Park, bowling alley, movie theatre, horseback riding, beach combing and shelling, surfing, sailing, kayaking, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.

In 2006 I helped design and build and held on when told to sell BEV. My fun Brookings beach house. When I first came up to this hilltop knoll overlooking the whole town, a huge hawk was gliding around on the wind currents without a single flap of it's wings. I realized I had a Bird's Eye View. I have a couple of kids, millennials, I love and care for deeply, most are Trojans. An AQHA colt Buckwheat, a rascal old dog Berry and MyV. I love to travel! Love to stay in vrbo.com places :D Love my garden; love my friends and critters; love God. Peace, love and brown rice. W
This special place is big enough to accommodate several generations of family or a special group of friends who want to be together but also have the space to have some privacy. The amazing Pacific Ocean views from every room and especially at night when the houses on the beach look out at a dark ocean, BEV still offers you a fantastic view. Sometimes the beach is foggy and here we are above the fog for a beautiful sunset. Quiet, safe, upscale neighborhood where deer and quail abound. Decor is elegant, and beach modern.
Handy to beaches and Redwoods. Very well stocked home ... you feel like you are at home away from home. Great for large family or group. Owner great to work with.
Property was very clean and comfortable. Wendy even decorated for christmas which made our christmas stay more enjoyable. Would definately recommend it to one and all especially families. There was so much room!
Our weekend stay was so relaxing looking out upon the ocean. The house was beautiful and comfortable for our family of nine. Wendy was always quick to respond when we had questions. When my husband and I woke up the first morning, all I could say was "wow!". Incredible views! Brookings is a wonderful town with lots of great restaurants. We'll be back.
We had a great time at Bird's Eye View! Wendy was communicative at the beginning and helpful with giving directions and being considerate with the possibility of the fires changing our plans. The house itself is a great layout for our big group and we all enjoyed the amazing view for the wedding weekend. Just a couple things to note; there are no blinds thru out the whole house. There is so many windows which make it so bright and great to see the view but not being able to shut blinds at night so you aren't woken super early in the morning was a little irritation. So bring eye masks!
We ended up flipping a breaker with our hairdryer and when we realized that the electrical box was in the locked garage, we text Wendy with no response. We didn't have any lights or fan in the downstairs bedroom and bath for the rest of the night and next day because of that. We made do but would have been nice to have a response from the seller. The carpets could really use a good cleaning as well.
All that said, if we needed to come back to brooking we would stay there again.
The eight of us were very comfortable and enjoyed our weekend stay at this lovely home. Saw cotton tail bunnies, quail families and a fawn from the deck. The sunsets were gorgeous and the weather was a cool welcome from the heat back home. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking items and utensils. The only things I can say that are negatives are the small parking area (our three vehicles fit tightly but could turn around with some3-5 point turns) ( the garage is not available for guests)and that the windows have no blinds for those of us that like to sleep past sunrise.
the only issue we had was there were zero curtains in the entire house, that really needs to be fixed for a comfortable stay, the garbage can needs a locking device on it because we picked up trash 3 out of 4 days we stayed there because the bear knocked it over, but the house, location, view, amenities, beds, kitchen and furniture were great we would stay again, interior walls need a new paint job, again though your house is beautiful and it fit all of our needs for our large family, we cleaned up before we left and hope that we did not leave much work for whoever cleans up,
