About Shannon Sumrall
Expert on New Orleans and Southern dining. Well versed in the NOLA traditions of having fun and enjoying life all while following Southern traditions of hospitality with good food, good drinks, good company and great music. I've also been known to indulge in the fishing arts and love cooking and feasting on what I catch.
Why Shannon Sumrall chose Faubourg Livaudais
The Garden District is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the world. Property is located in the Garden District Security District with frequent patrols.

Great Location Near St. Charles Street Car Line
We had an enjoyable stay. Plenty of room , clean and comfortable., and A/C worked great. As stated in a previous review, there is no coffeemaker. Easy enough to heat water on the stove and use instant until we could get our fix elsewhere. The St. Charles Streetcar line is about a block away. We learned to get around on the Canal and Rampart/St. Claude Streetcars, as well. Getting a Jazzy Pass makes it easier to pay than trying to stuff your dollar bill and quarter into the slot. We enjoyed shopping Magazine Street which is a few blocks away. Since we've been to New Orleans a few times before, we like to check out neighborhood bars and restaurants. So we ended up at Verret's Lounge on Washington St.. Great people there, and the drinks were really good, too. We also never miss Buffa's Bar & Restaurant on Esplanade Ave. Great food & music. And, our new fave Cooter Brown's Tavern on Carrollton Ave. Also, yummy food.
It appeared that there was plenty of parking for those that rent a car. We nearly always us a car service (A Personal Touch Transportation- Stanley is a great driver and has become a friend that we look forward to seeing).
So, if you want the real New Orleans experience, you won't be dissapointed in this Shotgun Style Home. Plus the price is right!
Close to St Charles streetcar !
Comfortable enough, but not well organized (kitchen dishes/utensils extra bedding,) & doesn’t have coffee pot, microwave or toaster.
Porch, bath, back yard all have deferred maintenance... Pictures make home look better than actually is.
Shannon is great... informative & extremely helpful. Street parking was sufficient & walking distance to many restaurants on St Charles.
We would rent this again.
GREAT customer service/normal old house
The owner of the property is EXTREMELY helpful, accommodating, kind, and responds quickly to messages! Great location in Garden District just 1 block away from the trolley on St Charles Ave. Driving around the block to find a place to park was pretty easy. A couple of blocks North is not quite as nice so don't park there. The house was clean and had some nice character. (LOVE the old pocket doors and a fireplace facade in every room!) My husband unfortunately is kind of a germaphobe so he does not see "character", he only sees chipping paint and old floors. I had never been to NOLA before so it was a bit of a culture shock, and I now see that the entire city could use a little TLC. Great price for the location.
Awesome place to stay! Great space and a perfect taste of NOLA.
House was extremely spacious with all of the perks listed (although we never found time to watch TV). There were 3 window A/C units that kept the place comfortable and helped keep it less humid inside. Shannon was more than helpful with tips on where to go and informing us on what was going on around us. Overall this was an awesome place to stay for a first time visit to NOLA and I’m beyond glad my friends and I stayed here and we are so happy with how everything turned out!
Great location! Close to the St. Charles
Great location! Plenty of parking if needed and very easy check in.
