What a wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

We had the BEST weekend - this place is the perfect balance of peace and quiet and fun activities available for families. The animals, the swing set, and the fenced in yard were perfect to keep our little boy busy. Rhonda and Lew are such gracious hosts and really go above and beyond to make sure guests are comfortable. The house was well stocked with absolutely everything we needed in the kitchen, extra linens, etc.

Perfect Getaway to a peaceful, quiet comfortable home.

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a place that was remote enough to enjoy the peace and quiet, let our dogs run free and still have comfortable accommodations and this was our perfect place. Lew & Rhonda went above and beyond for our stay and were so helpful with some things to do around the area. It was a great balance of relaxation, exploring & fun. They have quite a bit of property to explore. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen (pans, dishes, utensils, etc.), bedding, towels, extra blankets and wi-fi (home away from home). Rhonda did suggest picking up groceries on the way, which I highly recommend. We did venture into the closet towns, but it's a 30-40 minute drive either way. We love it so much, we are planning to go back next year!

Awesome Quiet Getaway, Great for ATV riders!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted an out of the way getaway for our 10 year anniversary and boy! this place hit the spot! It was just what we needed. Secluded, but close enough to something if we needed it (35 min away).

We took our 2 ATVs with us and had plenty of room to park our box trailer in which we hauled them. We rode the ATVs directly out from the cabin to get to the trails. Lots of trails to explore and awesome views to see.

Our hosts were wonderful. They were close enough if we needed them, but didn't see them unless they were feeding their animals that are located close to the cabin.

The cabin itself was very clean and very well stocked on pots, pans, and kitchen utensils. We cooked all our meals but one and had everything we needed. The beds and bedding were very comfortable.

I also loved that the owners were open to suggestions to make their place better. This tells me that they really care about their guests, though I didn't really have any suggestions being that we enjoyed ourselves so much!!

Overall, we loved our stay and plan to bring our children back at some point to enjoy this place with us!

Owner's Response: We really appreciate the kind words and so glad you were able to do what you wanted to with your ATVs in our beautiful and secluded area. There are some awesome trails around us. By the way, Happy Anniversary and the frig has a new "bulb", thanks for letting us know. We look forward to you and your family's return. Again thank you~ Rhonda and Lew

Incredibly peaceful and comfortable getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was fantastic! Both Rhonda and Lew were incredibly helpful both pre-visit and during our stay. The ranch is out of the way from a lot of activity but near enough to a few attractions if you want to get out (Great Sand Dunes was 1.5 hours and Mission Wolf was about 40 minutes). Just being on the ranch itself was a lot of fun! There is also some decent hiking in the area. My family had a wonderful time!

Perfect property in every way!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Double D Ranch. This two bedroom cabin was decorated in everything Western, making every nook and cranny something fun to view. We loved letting our dog roam the fenced in property. Petting the donkeys and feeding the donkeys and llamas was really special. Lew (the owner) was so friendly and helpful. We can’t believe the value of this Ranch! We have stayed at numerous other HomeAway destinations and this is by far our favorite!
