Take in the stunning panoramic views of the Straight of Georgia and the snow-capped North Shore Mountains from our beautiful, rustic oceanfront cottage. Enjoy drinks and meals on the deck while you watch the spectacular sunsets and, after dark, the lights of Vancouver. Then wake up to gorgeous sunrises over the mountains or star gaze at night through the large skylight in the second floor master bedroom.
Watch birds, deer, otters, seals and bald eagles while you sip your morning cup of coffee from the sandstone beach, the wrap-around deck, or one of the two main bedrooms. You might even see a pod of orcas passing by, or sea lions frolicking in the ocean right in front of the house.
The Hot Tub is nestled into the natural landscape just off of the beach, overlooking the ocean. Savour the gorgeous night time views of the stars and the lights of Vancouver. In the summer, watch the sunrise and sunset. In the winter, listen to the sound of crashing waves on the beach as all of your cares melts away.
The house is tastefully decorated and equipped with all the basics you may need. Both the Master bedroom and second bedroom overlook the ocean and mountains. The Master bedroom has a larger than king size bed and a large skylight for star-gazing at night. The second bedroom has a queen size bed. Each of the other two bedrooms have sleeping lofts and two twin beds.
The property is just 10 minutes by car from the ferry. It's a nice walk down a country road or just minutes away from stores, restaurants, the golf club and the pub, by car or bike. It sits on about 7 private wooded acres and 300 feet of low bank, sandstone waterfront. There are extensive lawns for lounging or playing games as well as a large pond where you may see wood, harlequin, mallard or other ducks.
In the cooler months, snuggle by the fire with a good book, enjoy our great selection of board games or our wonderful and diverse collection of DVD's.

We fell in love with Galiano Island about 25 years ago, and have been both full-time residents and 'weekenders'. We currently live in Vancouver and hope to return to Galiano full time one day.
Owner purchased this House in 1996
Why Owner chose Galiano Island
As past full-time residents, we knew exactly what we were looking for in a Galiano home. This property has it all: 300 feet of beachfront, 7 acres of private forest, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets in the summer, a wrap-around deck, lots of windows, wood stove, hot tub...
What makes this House unique
With it's Northern view of the Coast Mountains the property enjoys both beautiful sunrises and sunsets across the SAlish Sea in the summer months.

Two Penguins was a wonderful place to stay for a spring break!!
We found Two Penguins to be luxurious for three, although it can easily hold eight. The outhouse is welcoming so with more people it would be in use. The house sits on the sandstone geology of this area and is surrounded by forest anda lawn leading to two small ponds. The views are of the mountains on the mainland or just up the coast. There is easy access to the sandstone shoreline. We loved the setting and its ready access to "town". I hope to be back with other people who love islands. There is still so much to explore. Thanks for making this special place available to others.
Perfect for us!
We travelled to two penguins for 4 nights with our family. Mom, Dad, 2 girls age 9 and 13, and Grandma. We loved the location, it is private and peaceful. The mars bedroom with the loft bed suited the kids perfectly. The Master bed is very comfortable and has amazing views. We loved being able to hear the waves slapping the shore and watch eagles soar past near by. We didn't have a lot of sunshine, and it didn't bother us, but this room might be difficult to sleep in for those who need darkness to remain asleep. The second main bedroom is also very comfortable, and on the main level. We enjoyed the layout, the kitchen was just right, the fireplace was cosy. Kids loved exploring the yard, pond, rope swing and shoreline. The mossy forest walk up the twisting driveway and back down the chip trail was just right for taking our dog out for a morning stroll. Overall we thought it was perfect for us, not too fancy and very comfortable. We would love to return another time.
Gorgeous oceanfront fully equipped cottage
My family and I had a wonderful weekend at Two Penguins. We cooked together, hiked, played games and enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. A perfect getaway for family and friends
Best Vacation House on the Island!!
This place is amazing!! It’s far enough away that it is completely private but still a short drive from the town centre. The ocean views are stunning from the bedroom window and from the hottub. The house has a great little rustic charm to it and can accommodate all your needs. Thank you for letting us stay at your place.
Relaxing, beautiful cottage with stunning views!
Went with three friends and our dogs and we had a great time! The property is nice and private and you have immediate access to the water. Sitting in the hot tub in the evening and cozying up by the fire at night were the perfect ways to relax and unwind! Will definitely come back here.
Beautiful hideaway by the sea
We had 3 days at this little gem of a place between Christmas and New Year 2017.
It rained pretty much the whole time but we didn’t care one bit as we were more than happy to stay home and enjoy the cosy cottage and the peaceful surroundings. We got the wood fire going, put on some music from the very eclectic CD library, cooked some good food, read our books, and played with our dogs in the woods. At first we wondered why the TV was hidden away in a side room, but soon realized that was a smart move so you can just forget about watching TV and enjoy some good music or conversation instead, or just take in the quiet and the sounds of the ocean.
We loved the master bedroom with its huge windows & amazing view, and fell asleep to the sound of the waves each night. We also enjoyed the hot tub with the raindrops falling on our heads :-)
This house has a rustic feel to it but has a million-dollar view and beautiful, private woodland setting. Thanks to the owners for sharing this little piece of heaven, we can't recommend it enough!
Thank you for your beautiful words, Hazel. It sounds like you enjoyed the place much the way we do.
That's exactly why the tv is in the other room. The live show is much better. ;)
Saturday Farmer's market in the summer, various concerts, theatre and art shows at the community hall throughout the year, Annual Literary Festival and Wine Festival, Canada Day Jamboree, BC Day Lion's Fiesta and various other festivals throughout the year.
