Peacefull 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom country home built with utmost quality

An oasis of luxury in the Gatineau park just minutes from the Ottawa byward market (20 min) and only 10 min to the quaint Village of Wakefield. This retreat promises to sooth the sole with the energy of the mature trees and it s quality of construction.

The massive logs timberframe construction are a perfect match for this spectacular setting.

Getting to the property sets the mood that you are entering a peacefull and tranquille area. Once you walk into the home you see quality and care from every angle. The seasonal spa allows great outdoor moments while being pampered.

This home is air tight. When you are cooking and need your fan setting, beyond the first setting, you will need to open a window or crack open the sliding door by the pool. This will stabalize the air pressure because the fan is very strong. This is especially crucial if you have a wood burning fire going in the fireplace.

Toilets are only used to flush with toilet paper ( no serviette or tampons ) as it can damage the bionest septic system.

Every precaution needs to be taken for fire prevention. When the outside fire pit is used be aware that there is a hose hooked up and ready to use under the deck. This log home and the wooded area around it makes it important that certain precautions are taken to avoid any fire damage. No smoking in the cabin.

Fantastic log cabin - everything you need and a great location!

Brilliant - everything you need and very nicely finished. Comfortable and has everything you could ever need for a holiday. So close to Ottawa yet completely private and quiet out in the country. So much to do locally too. Definitely recommended!

Stunning home - fabulous location

We stayed at the luxury cabin and loved it. The location is great - wooded property between Old Chelsea and Wakefield and 20 minutes to downtown Ottawa. So if the weather is not great, close to museums and tourist attractions. Amenities of the cabin are top notch - very comfortable beds, stylish bathrooms, great appliances. We loved the open loft area but if you're a light sleeper and have guests, it would be a challenge to sleep late. One issue was the hot tub. It was not operating properly and not fixed until our second last day. So that was disappointing.

Stunning cottage!

We loved our stay at this beautiful cottage tucked into the woods. It was a great place to gather with a group of friends, enjoy the outdoors, the hot tub, and the beautiful architecture. I can't wait to come back again in the winter!

Gorgeous Cabin

The cabin, as the pictures show, is a show stopper. Beautifully constructed, and decorated with an appealing mix of new and old, the cabin is super comfortable. We experienced a few snags: confusion over our arrival date, which resulted in the cabin cleaning and bed making not complete on arrival. The owner sent someone over immediately to fix this. We were frustrated with the lack of firewood: we were told it was present, but it wasn't. We asked that some be delivered, but only 2 or 3 logs were dropped off. Strange for a place with a reasonably high daily rate. If you're looking for firewood for your stay, you may want to check on this. A guest manual would also be helpful to control the heat and operate the video system. Despite these problems, it's a great stay. Highly recommend local restaurant Les Fougeres.

Perfect Stay!

Beautiful property, close to all activities in Gatineau Park! We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin, it had all the amenities we could have wanted. Really enjoyed cooking meals in the gourmet kitchen, and watching olympics in the cinema room! Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Beautiful property

The home and property were just beautiful, as you can obviously see in the pictures. I was a little disappointed that the hot tub was non functional during the winter. Luc did explain, after I inquired, it was "seasonal" and it was "too cold" to run. After rereading the description of the house it did say seasonal in brackets, however it was also called it an "Arctic Spa" and gave the impression after cross country skiing you could sit in the hot tub and enjoy a fire. Further, I was unable to find cross country trails right behind the house as described in the description, iit is a steep incline. We did find one a 10 minute walk away along the river, which was quite lovely.

As for parking, it is best to park at the bottom of the hill during the winter if you do not have four wheel drive or manual. Two cars did get stuck in the snow and we had to call CAA, thankfully someone had it!

The trip was phenomenal, being with with close friends always is. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was luxurious to cook in. I would just double check if the hot tub is in season if you are planning on staying there.
