We are look forward to having you! The 800+ sq foot daylight basement apartment is below our primary residence. Tastefully updated with a modernized and comfortable aesthetic. Renters will enter a private entrance on the right of the house and will then enjoy a quiet and private space with a complete kitchen, open layout and plenty of storage. The space is a one bedroom (queen bed) with a sectional sleeper sofa (queen) that can accommodate another two comfortably for four total guests. At the end of the day unwind with a smart tv equipped with basic cable or connect to your Netflix, Hulu, or HBO account. Apartment’s features include: Full bathroom, modern stainless kitchen appliances, Paperstone countertops, LED retrofit lighting, deep bay windows, and custom wood built-in cabinets. Enjoy the shared front or back spaces with your favorite beverage and feel free to access our grill. Location is 8 block walking distance from the library, yoga/pilates, wine bar, coffee shops, boutiques, and Madrona’s restaurants. 2 blocks away from bus lines that run to downtown and UW.
Guests have access to a private utility room that has a washer and dryer for your use. You are welcome to share our covered front or back patios, both with outdoor seating. Please know that we have children who share these spaces and appreciate the back child gate and back driftwood gate closed at all times. Check-in: 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM Check out: 11 AM Guests will be given a code to doorknob lock code at least 24 hours prior to arrival.
If we are in town we would love to answer any questions in person you might have during your stay. If not, we are just a text or a call away. PLEASE NOTE: This is our primary residence and have two young children upstairs. While we keep normal hours (7am - 9pm), please note there will be some noise transfer as this unit is directly below our kitchen and living space, the house is 100+ years old. If you prefer to sleep in, this may not be the most appropriate fit for you. Otherwise, we can provide earplugs and do our best to minimize noise once we are up for the day.
Madrona is a centrally located residential neighborhood between the Central District and Leschi. It enjoys a vibrant commercial core filled with shops and restaurants including the Hi Spot, a very popular breakfast and lunch restaurant; Bottlehouse, a charming wine bar with occasional events; Vendemmia, modern restaurant offering handmade pasta; Molly Moons, Seattle's most popular local ice cream shop; Red Cow, an upscale brassiere offering French classics; St. Clouds, which often has live music on the weekends; as well as other great restaurants, a lovely park, a corner market, barber shop, dry cleaner, and laundromat. Well-known candleholder manufacturer GlassyBaby has its headquarters in Madrona, and passersby enjoy watching the candy-colored glass being hand blown by its artisans.
If you are driving guests can find street parking on the street in front of our home or on one of the adjacent streets. Downtown is a 10 minute drive, depending on traffic. To access the eastside (Bellevue, Kirkland, etc.) I-90 and 520 onramps are less than 8 minutes away. If you prefer public transit, you can access local bus lines within 2 blocks of our home, which will take you around the city. Uber and Lyft are usually just minutes away.
