"wir sind gut angekommen und fühlen uns pudelwohl in Ihrer schönen Wohnung. Gerade kam sogar die Sonne raus"
Very nice house, at the border of the little village but still in walking distance from the centre and nature.
We enjoyed our stay very much!
The property is very comfortable and well equipped. We came with two children, and there were games for them to play indoors on wet days, as well as a garden to play in. We really appreciated all the space, which you do not always get with a holiday flat. There is a lovely sun terrace for sitting out on summer evenings and listening to the crickets while enjoying one of the tasty local wines.
Kirchzarten itself is a small and friendly town, with all the amenities you could want: a good range of shops (including several bakeries, butchers and market stalls selling fresh produce from the local area), a large outdoor swimming pool, and excellent public transport links into the Black Forest and into Freiburg. The house, despite its quiet location, is well placed to use all these facilities, and a car is certainly not necessary.
We would definitely recommend staying in this property, whether you want an energetic holiday walking and cycling in the Black Forest, a relaxing holiday enjoying the local food and wine, a base to travel into Freiburg, or as we did: all three!
A beautiful property in an excellent location. We enjoyed the beautiful patio and the ability to walk to town for resturants/train/post office/bike rental/ everything. My only hold back from rating an excellent would be only one bathroom. Otherwise the owner really accomodated us superbly. All equipment such as washer/dryer/ kitchen dishwasher, toaster, etc. worked perfectly. The piano was a nice touch. This property has excellent access to outdoor recreation such as bicycling, walking, hiking, skiing. And the town size is perfect. So nice not to be in the big city of Freiburg. I'd recommend taking the free railroad pass to anywhere in the area. We went to Titisee - which is a tourist trap and not good for hiking as is Kirchzarden. So just take the train up and back.. The tourist office in town is excellent.
