The Penthouse at Lomas Del Mar is a unique, Spanish Colonial style, condominium with a 300 degree view of Banderas Bay, the Sierra Madres, and Old Town Puerto Vallarta. We have maintained the old world charm, with high ceilings, arched parrotia wood doors and steel floor-to-ceiling windows, and then added all of the modern conveniences. As soon as you enter, you will be struck by the comfortable flow and stunning view.

About Marco Calvo
We just returned from living in P.V. since last October. We are from, and live in, Seattle, Washington. We've been coming to Mexico for 20 years and had an opportunity to buy our place, so we did. We have been able to travel around Mexico, and learn some Spanish, and are hoping to return to our home in paradise within the next few years. We love Seattle, but P.V. affords us challenges and opportunities that we'd really like to take on again, soon.

Why Marco Calvo chose Emiliano Zapata
You will know as soon as you walk in the door. It's a comfortable and peaceful place, in an authentic Mexican neighborhood, with access to all things Mexico.
What makes this Condo unique

Nice and clean place, safe area.
Rooms and common area were big and had a nice big view. We didn't use the pool.
Elegant suite with Historical feel
We enjoyed the authenticity of this penthouse suite in this intimate condo building. It is a beautiful place with an abundance of character, beauty and comfort.
The rooftop pool was perfect for an afternoon and evening dip.It is a spacious, breezy place in a great area away from the bar and restaurant scene.
It is up a hill-which we welcomed- to help tone and exercise the body.
There was construction right next door-a temporary occurance- and a car wash below that played music loud and randomly.
The only suggestions would be to tweak(edit) the amount of personal effects in the suite and up the level of cleanliness- as the additional charge for cleaning fee is hefty- and therefore should have a better outcome. Any issue we had was swiftly addressed by the owner!
Not your Grandpa's Vacation Condo
Let me start off with some background on my experiences. I have been staying in condos around the US and Mexico for something like 15 years. Over the time, most of the places we have stayed is were nice and provided a lot of amenities. Most were more like hotels equipped with a kitchen. Nice but totally sterile.
This condo is six blocks from the ocean and just a couple of blocks removed from what my friends call the "tourist section" of the Romantic Zone. The neighborhood is totally safe but could be characterized as Mexican. You will see Mexican families getting ready for school, enjoying a day off and in the evenings just relaxing. We experienced a neighborhood birthday party which spilled into the street complete with music, dancing and merry making. We ate at restaurants frequented by locals (and had some of the best fish tacos in PV for a couple of dollars). We had cool conversations with locals who wanted to learn about us, give us advice and definitely weren't trying to sell us anything. Exactly the experience we craved.
The whole condo has an authentic Mexican feel to it. Lots of hand work in the mostly masonry fixtures, tile work and statues built into the walls. Even the bed in the master bedroom is formed of masonry, which sounds funny but just blends into the whole feel.
The condo itself is well equipped. It has a nice and very useful kitchen, a great dining area and living room. While the rooftop dipping pool is not a full blown swimming pool, the area is warm inviting, has chairs and a grill; not to mention the best view of the ocean and street life of PV.
The beds were all very comfortable. The internet worked better than any I have experience outside of an office building in Latin America. The washer and drier worked well. The water was purified and my friends drank straight from the faucet with no ill effects. Unlike some of the other newer condos we have stayed at there was no problem with flushing toilet paper down the toilets (the other places provided special trash cans in the bathrooms which my wife finds totally gross).
All these things were great but the best part of the place is the balcony and open air living room. Stepping out onto the balcony is like stepping from the living room into the heart of PV. The view is fantastic. The air mixes the smells of the ocean with the smell of old PV.
Finally, the owner is totally cool and possibly the easiest guy on the planet to deal with. Thanks
Thank you so much. It was an absolute pleasure having you as our guest, and we really hope that you will choose to stay with us again.
We are both, Nicole and I, really moved by your review. That is exactly how we feel about the place, and what we had always hoped to share with our guests.
