About the property

House, 1 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 2

A luxury retreat from which to explore historic Savannah or to simply relax in true Southern comfort, this one-bedroom, two-bath cottage offers the finest appointments and modern amenities. Built in the 1800s and renovated with care, the 1200 square foot cottage showcases many pieces of original art by highly regarded American artists of the region, while allowing for maximum comfort and privacy. The main level provides an open floor plan great for entertaining, but is also cozy and comfortable for a quiet night in. The sitting area has a convertible sofa, chaise, and deeply comfortable lounge chair. There is a dining room to seat six, with French doors to the enclosed, decked patio for outdoor dining. A spacious, open loft bedroom is on the second floor.

This home is conveniently located near beautiful, historic Whitefield Square. Referred to as "the wedding square" because so many couples are married in its charming gazebo, it offers a Spanish-moss-draped natural space to relax or socialize with locals. On a peaceful, residential block, 535 East Gordon is just a short stroll to Forsyth Park and all of Savannah’s fine dining and cultural institutions.

This home is ideal for a couples' romantic getaway, a business accommodation (we offer discounts for longer stays) or for two friends traveling together but wanting separate sleeping areas.

Clean, contemporary, architectural lines plus vintage and contemporary furnishings create a relaxing retreat with a French country feel. The artist owner has, in fact, a second home in the rural, Languedoc-Roussillon wine region of France (contact the manager if you would like additional information on this rental). Light, lacquered, pine floors shine throughout. Two sets of French doors flood the home with natural light.

The home in well-equipped with a 42-inch LG smart TV downstairs, with local channels, cable channels, HBO and much more - plus Netflix, Amazon Prime and many other options via the internet. High-speed internet for up to four devices keeps you connected. There is a second 26-inch flatscreen TV upstairs with digital channels, a DVD player and VHS player, and a collection of old favorite movies for your viewing pleasure, and a bit of nostalgia. A Bose iPod dock is also provided.

Relax in either of our spa-inspired bathrooms, one with an antique, claw-footed soaking tub; the other a contemporary bath and shower combination with massaging shower head. Luxurious linens are provided throughout; beautifully-scented wash gels and a towel warmer complete the experience of indulgence and comfort.

The kitchen has a French country feel with wooden counter tops and glass-front cabinets, but is fully equipped with full-size appliances, service for six, programmable coffeemaker (to awake to the delicious aroma of fresh-brewed coffee!) and all the small appliances and utensils you could require for preparing a gourmet meal. A washer/dryer combination resides in a nook off the kitchen.

* Please note, children under 12 are not allowed due to the loft-style second floor and open stairways.

About Vacasa of Savannah

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Gordon Street

  • 5 of 5

The property was just like the photos! Very quite street, neighbors, and neighborhood which is what we were looking for. A little off the beaten path but we walked everywhere except to load up with groceries. And plenty of free parking.

Romantic getaway

  • 5 of 5

This place was exceptional!! The most comfortable bed we ever stayed in. All of the amenities were perfect! Within walking distance to town and squares. We had a little trouble with the cable so we called Vacasa and Sterling walked us through some trouble shooting tips and cable was up and running. By far the BEST customer service!

Savannah shack

  • 2 of 5

Pulling up to curb the yard was weedy and unkempt. The water would not warm and my husband had to light the pilot on the hot water heater. The towels were cheap and scratchy. We got a parking ticket the 1st night there. We only stayed 1 night instead of the 3 we scheduled.

The house was tiny, cute and loft was cozy. The bedsheets and bed were super comfy.

Cute but simple

  • 4 of 5

The house was well maintained and stocked. Cute decor. The location was further from downtown area than expected, not walking distance. There was very little to do at the house. They advertise cable TV, but there was only about 4 channels. You could access your personal Netflix though. We didn't see any supplied board games. We didn't have a negative experience at the house but wouldn't stay again.
