This is a large studio-style apartment with about 500 square feet (47 square meters) of space for you to enjoy, as well as additional areas like the patio and lawn. It includes free WIFI, a sitting area with coffee table, a dining area with seating for 4, a walk-in closet, a kitchenette and a clothes washer/dryer. It is about 15 minutes from the beautiful beaches of the Kohala coast, nestled among the rolling grassy hills of dryside Waimea a classic Hawaiian Paniolo (Cowboy) town.
Located conveniently within 5 minutes drive of charming Waimea town with shops, restaurants/bars, historic ranches, public park & playground, bank, pharmacy, hospital, and library. The local climate features cool mornings and evenings, bright sunny days, gorgeous sunsets and lots of rainbows.

We strive to offer excellent value for money with a great setup for adventures, cyclists, business travelers, couples and small families. The kitchenette and laundry facilities allow for efficient and economic visit. New Roku TV and DVD player provide entertainment on demand. The kitchenette has a sink, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, microwave and toaster oven. There is also a propane BBQ grill available outside the Suite. Rental includes access to a nice lawn and patio area that is great for watching the sunset, stargazing or breakfast. We provide complimentary coffee, tea and water.
We have a super comfortable California King bed. There is also queen size sofa pullout bed, and a single futon that we can set up in needed. For your convenience, please let us know in advance if you would like us to prepare either of the extra beds for your group.
Completely private suite with separate entrance, designated parking, private bathroom and shower. Accessibility Note: There are a few stairs / steps for the apartment. It is not wheelchair accessible and is not recommended for people who have difficulty with steps.
We usually welcome guests in person on the first day. We are nearby if anything comes up or if the guests need help or advice.
Waimea translates as "Red-water" named for the color of the local streams flowing with volcanic earth when it rains. Beautiful vistas, great climate, short drive to many of the best beaches of the Kohala coast. Great hiking and biking. Small town charm, paniolo heritage.
Waimea, not to be confused with places of the same name on other Hawaiian islands, is also known as Kamuela (official US Postal Service city designation). The intra- Waimea bus does a circuit around town stopping 1 minute walk from our house every hour most days and the Hilo-Kona bus comes right through town as well. Approximate travel time by car from our house: Hilo - 1 hr 15 min; Kona - 45 min; Waipio Valley – 35; min Honokaa - 25 min; Kawaihae - 10 min; Waikoloa - 20 min
