Private, relaxing, dog-friendly getaway
From the moment we walked into the cabin, my husband and I loved it. The open concept was convenient while cozy. The many deer heads made us laugh, and also made it feel authentically rustic. There is an awesome loft bedroom, and you can see the internet tv from anywhere in the cabin. However, the view outside the cabin is what we came for! The woods all around were perfect for exploring with our dogs, and the wrap around porch allowed us to relax and listen to nature. The amenities made our stay so comfortable, and because the owners knew it was our anniversary, they went over and above to welcome us. It rained quite a bit, which was perfect for sitting on the covered porch and playing cards. One thing - the internet can be a little iffy during the rain if you are streaming live tv, so just be prepared for that. Again - there is plenty to watch outdoors instead of tv. The fire pit and the indoor wood stove allowed us to keep warm when it was chilly, and the AC was perfect when it was hot. This weekend was very memorable, we plan on coming back again, and I would recommend this beautiful getaway to anyone!
This cabin was perfect for our weekend get away with the family.. Very clean and cozy. Our dog Thor also loved it and felt very welcome :) We did arrive at night time which was not suggested, however we contacted the owners to help navigate us to where we needed to be. They responded very fast. She was super nice and glad to help. They also emailed us very detailed directions on how to get there.
A place to get away from everything.
This cabin is located away from the busy world and it's very private. We love the fact that there was nothing around but trees. Beautifully decorated and cozy.
Thank you for letting my husband and I stay here, hopefully we would be back.
Beautiful, quiet location!
My family and I spent a lovely weekend at the cabin that we enjoyed so much. It was quiet and secluded, but close enough to town for us to visit a local restaurant and Old Man's Cave. The cabin also was well stocked with everything we needed to cook in both the kitchen, as well as over the campfire. Our two young children loved the loft and exploring the surrounding woods and the mesdow, also. It was a quiet, relaxing, and peaceful weekend, and we cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed it, and are greatxuo for the wonderful hospitality we recived! Thank you!
Beautiful, private, and a great mix of modern and rustic.
The cabin is awesome—the perfect mix of modern and rustic. It is maintained wonderfully and is situated on a lovely, sprawling property. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and located essentially in between downtown Logan and the caves. Don't let the warnings about driving the path to the cabin scare you away. We rode in a 2WD Honda CRV and had no issues. But do park up near the barn if there's heavy rain. You will enjoy a great expanse of natural surroundings and complete privacy. The property owners are extremely nice, responsive, and helpful. We will be back!
Solitude, comfort, relaxation and close proximity to tremendous hiking Clean, convenient cabin.
This cabin exceeded our expectations. Clean, comfortable and plenty of amenities like the hot tub, wraparound porch overlooking wooded ravine, attentive hosts and solitude. Be aware of the open floor plan, only interior door is to the bathroom/shower. If you're OK with that, I can't think of any reason NOT to consider this little parcel of peace. We visited a lot of the usual places, with Conkle's Hollow being the hands-down highlight, both the canyon trail and the rim trails. The antique-ish mall on the highway is chock-full of interesting stores and locally-crafted artisanal products and foods. The town of Logan was fun to wander, with a terrific bakery/donut shop and good pizza at the local pizzeria. We also drove to Nelsonville, which was a bit underwhelming. Also, as a citified guy the well water was a bit much, so we drank store-bought water. Overall, it was precisely what I was looking for....we'd take our 13-pound Yorkie on morning hikes until he was worn out, the leave him at the cabin for more strenuous afternoon hikes. And the temporary portable A/C unit (filling in for a broken unit) kept up admirably with 90-plus degree days during the first half of our visit.
