About Linda Peterson
We live an hour away between Jonestown and Cedar Park across from Lake Travis. I lived in the area as a child, but my spouse is a transplant from the beautiful Lake Michigan area. I guess you'd call us lake people. We have seven grandchildren, but only two are local. The others are in Raleigh, NC. We also have three small Shih Tzu dogs that love the lake area as much as we do.
Linda Peterson purchased this House in 2007
Why Linda Peterson chose Granite Shoals
We previously had a smaller rental on Lake Travis, but sold it because water levels fluctuated so much. Lake LBJ is referred to a constant-level lake, so boating is never hampered by low water. The area is a quiet, congenial, slow-paced kind of place where folks wave as they drive by even if they don't know you.
What makes this House unique
There is a lot of wildlife wandering around - prized plants are a favorite of the local deer population. We had a very small fawn take up residence in the shady plants of our tree round in front of the house. We named this place for the two peacocks who liked to wander our property. Unfortunately, all peacocks had to be removed. Butterflies, song birds, and millions of stars on quiet nights all add up to a wonderful place to rest and relax. There are 19 parks in this city of 5,000 - one around every corner.

Clean and Peaceful
Home was very clean. Lots of linens. Well supplied kitchen. Lots of hot water. Neighborhood was quiet. The kitchen is upstairs. Had a few issues that could not be fixed during our stay, as the parts store was not open. I am sure the items will be fixed. Owner seemed nice.
The house was spacious, and Linda was very helpful. She answered all our questions. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was large, and the house was clean.
Beautiful Place with Gracious Hosts
This house has the amenities for any modern family with kids, teens or not. While the weather was too cold to enjoy the lake, we thoroughly enjoyed the deer that came to see us daily! The Petersons were gracious hosts and were easily reached with any need I had. My only caution would be for people who might struggle up and down stairs as they are a small steep steps without a rail between first and second floor. Luggage was difficult. Main floor for kitchen and guest rooms is on second floor. Kitchen is huge and stocked with many things and updated kitchenware. I also have severe allergies; the previous folks used fire place prior to our stay so it smelled smoky when we arrived. Nevertheless, the Petersons had thoroughly cleaned the fireplace for the next guest use. Linda also did a special re-wash of the bedding for my sensitivities to perfume in laundry soap. ;-) I'm sure all that is offered is suitable for most! Thanks Petersons!
We absolutely loved our stay! The house was perfect - Linda was responsive and the weekend was a fabulous hit with our family. It was hard to leave.
Great stay for our family of 8!
Our family gathered here to celebrate a milestone birthday and an early Christmas. We stayed 4 nights/4 days. I'm happy to say, we had a blast and a very comfortable stay. This house is definitely set up nicely for a large group -- plenty of beds/bedrooms; plenty of seating inside and out; and a generous provision of supplies, necessities, and equipment for cooking and having fun (including 2 kayaks and games of all sorts). I loved the view of the lake and big trees out the large picture windows and from the deck on the lake side of the house. The house itself is situated in a serene environment and a quiet neighborhood where families of deer feel comfortable roaming about. We saw them every day...sometimes several times a day (what a joy!). The TV(s), WiFi, W/D, hot tub, propane BBQ grill, kitchen appliances, and all electronics provided were in good condition and worked well throughout our stay which made our stay truly enjoyable and comfortable. Check in and check out was a breeze. The owner was very responsive via text messages. There are two parks (both on the lake) within a short walk from the house, a mini market/gas station within a 5 minute drive, and a large H-E-B grocery store within a 15-20 minute drive. Overall great location! Note to future guests: the downstairs master suite is very nice but it sits right below the kitchen. There will be noise for those who go to bed early. The upstairs bedrooms (x3) are right off the living room upstairs which is A-OK but there will be some noise there too. Bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. The house is a little run down but not enough to be a detriment. The furnishings and beds are all very comfortable and in good repair. The owners provide a genorous amount of linens so there is no need to worry about bringing extra (other than towels for outdoor use which they request you bring and use).
Clean , views and lots of outdoor lounging spots ! Highly recommend this great lakehouse!
For us this was the perfect lake house . The huge kitchen had everything we could have needed including coffee! Tons of space for everyone with lots of kitchen seating and open living / kitchen space . Enjoyed watching tv on the big screen. Hot tub was enjoyable and we loved going in the kayaks on the lake . We will definitely come stay again sometime. Thanks Linda you were awesome
