Inadequite kitchen for 12 people, Broken hot tub, but the house looks nice!
The property is true to the pictures online, it was beautiful, and the inside was clean. However, I would never come back to this property for a multiple reasons, as follows:
1. Owner did not give me the correct code to get into the community, and did not pick up the phone when I called. We got lucky that someone else let us in.
2. There were 2 toilet paper rolls total for the entire property (offered for 12 people). So, make sure to bring your own right away!
3. The hot tub was supposed to “heat up in 30 minutes” according to the manual given by the owner. The tub was not hot the next day. Property manager came by and suggested we wait a couple more days. Owner came by the next day, and it wasn’t working even then. Finally, professionals came by on day 6, but couldn’t not fix because they had to order new parts. We did not get to use the hot tub at all, and the owner is NOT willing to compensate.
4. There were 3 wine glasses (offered for 12 people). We had to go and buy our own.
5. The manual given by the owner states that the kitchen is well equipped for cooking for 12 people. Maybe for 12 children, yes. Bring your own pots and pans if you want to cook for your group!
All of these complaints could have been fixed if the owner had just a little more skills in hospitality, and would have treated her guests a little nicer.
Thankfully, our trip wasn’t ruined as the area has a lot to offer and our family was grateful to have spent time together regardless of the circumstances.
This cabin has been enjoyed by many large groups with very adequate cooking pots/pans/skillet/crock pot /2 coffee makers -2 sets of dishes -16 people
Glasses/silverware. I personally enjoyed a meal with friends who rented in October and easily cooked for 14.
Confirmed paper supplies with cleaning team and a group left same morning and 2 rolls left in each bathroom . Starter sets are left for paper supplies and soap-not everything guests will use.
Hot tub apparently took a power surge when turned on after power out for 5 days from 2 foot snow storm -once made aware was not heating and 2 trips by technician and husband on our own holiday vacation trip-called jacuzzi company and was New Years weekend-they came out and diagnosed burned up heat relay -and ordered part-
Rental contract w VRBO and myself states all efforts will be made with any mechanical issue but owners cannot guarantee use. Expecting compensation is against VRBO rules.
This guest was not reasonable and not accurate with their assessment of the cabins inventory.
Gate code the HOA changes each quarter and wrong code was given in error. I did respond within minutes to their call
This guest was reported to VRBO and this situation has been documented and under review as well.
It’s unfortunate some guests are very difficult and cannot please at all. I personally inspected the cabin before they arrived and found it ready and fully stocked.
One of our best vacations yet!!!
My family loved their surprise vacation destination!!! The owners were an absolute pleasure!!!! I highly recommend this beautiful home for your family getaway!!!!
Beautiful house - lots of room
We had an amazing time !!!!
Great guests who booked early to secure their vacation and easy to contact to ensure they had everything they needed.
Look forward to having them stay again and enjoy the cabin.
Wonderful property minutes from TIEC
Loved the home. Spacious and lovely. Wendy is a gracious host!
Nice place for family bonding
Wendy has a lovely home. Home is few minutes away from lake lure and chimney rock. We visited charlotte which is just about an hour away. We had a good time cooking our meals and enjoyed our family time, priceless. Wendy is nice and easy to reached out, that makes your stay more comfortable, Make all the difference. Thank you for sharing your home.
Beautiful Mountain Cabin
Pictures don't do this place justice! Massive cabin in a secluded neighborhood with gorgeous views, open living space, ample sleeping accommodations, and any amenities you may need. The actual property location is not reflected accurately through VRBO, which shows the house in Rutherfordton proper (the actual cabin is about 10 miles outside of town.)
This place has everything you need for a quiet, mountainous retreat well off the grid. If you plan on cooking for a large crowd, you may want to consider bringing specific cookware, as the knives and some of the pots/pans were not ideal for large meal prep. Everything else more than made up for that slight inconvenience, however. Our group plans to return here next year, if available!
Lastly, the property owner was both very responsive and made sure all of our needs were met. Overall 10/10 experience.
4 miles from Tryon International Equestrian Center, 10 miles to Forest City with all stores and bank you will need. Asheville is 30 min drive, visit the Biltmore, downtown shops and festivals, Greenville is 40 min drive as well.
