Fall is a great time to visit Santa your stay at our relaxing getaway. Our home is light and spacious and has everything you need for a fun stay in this beachside town. Two bedrooms (king sized bed in the master and double in the second bedroom) and two full baths are here for your comfort. The back courtyard has a garden, an outdoor koi pond and waterfall which will lull you to sleep. Our home is your oasis after a fun day in surf city.
If you are here in the winter or early spring, enjoy our gas fireplace and warm living space. There are lots of events year-round in Santa Cruz. The town is a blast as many tourists stay home while the locals come out to play. You can see a basketball game at the D-League Warriors arena; stroll downtown; listen to a concert; take a guided hike through the redwoods at one of our state parks; go birding; take in a burlesque show; wine, dine or drink some brew at a local restaurant or pub, or visit a pop-up restaurant downtown.
Our home is located just minutes from downtown Santa Cruz, the Beach Boardwalk, West Cliff Drive, UCSC, Long’s Marine Lab, Natural Bridges State Park, Wilder Ranch, and just 8 miles from Henry Cowell Redwood State Park and Roaring Camp Railroad. Take a swim at Cowell's Beach in the morning, a hike through the towering redwoods of Henry Cowell State Park in the afternoon and ride the Giant Dipper, the historical wooden roller coaster at the Boardwalk at night. Our local museum just got a facelift including Abbott Square restaurants and bars with outside seating that's hopping on weekends. If it's the first Friday of the month, join the town in First Friday art and activities. It's all within reach of our home.
A mixed use trail begins right behind our house. Hike about a mile through Arroyo Seco canyon up to Meder Street Park for a lovely morning walk. The local Audubon club regularly uses the trail as a birdwatching walk. West Cliff Drive and local beaches are just a mile the other way. Take a sunset walk along the cliffs and watch the waves. On a perfect day, the whales play out in the bay just off the cliffs. There is mountain-biking nearby. Mt. Hermon has a zipline about 10 miles away. There is no end to the fun you can have in the area!
Note that the pond and waterfall in the backyard is protected by an electric wire to keep out raccoons.
