Forest Ridge is a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired ranch house - full of natural light and surrounded by nature.
Custom-built in 1975 out of redwood and glass, this architectural gem sits on just over 6 acres of private forest in West Sonoma County's Wine Country. With approximately 5,600 square feet of indoor living space, guests have ample room to spread out. The single level floorplan includes two living rooms, formal dining, casual dining, an impeccably remodeled kitchen and a spacious yoga studio (ask about a private yoga class). Outside, the solar-heated (sunshine dependent) in ground pool, half basketball court, BBQ, hammocks, and variety of seating and dining areas make it hard to decide - inside or outside?
It's all about the attention to details - vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, mid-century modern inspired décor and original artwork. Superbly comfortable bedrooms and remodeled bathrooms - two with soaking tubs, one with a travertine and marble walk-in shower and heated floor - encourage relaxation and rejuvenation. Stroll through the property and say hello to the 141 redwood trees or try "forest bathing" in one of the three hammocks suspended in a grove. The towns of Occidental, Freestone, and Graton, home to bakeries, world-renowned Osmosis Spa, local cheese, excellent restaurants and wineries, are all minutes from the house.
Know Before You Book:
Damage Waiver: The non-refundable damage waiver included in the reservation charges replaces a standard security deposit. The damage waiver covers unintentional damages to real or personal property of the rental unit that occur during your stay. The policy will pay a maximum benefit of $3000.00. Any damages that exceed $3,000.00 will be charged to the guest directly. The damage waiver plan does not cover replacement of missing items, additional housekeeping charges, intentional damage or gross negligence, or damages resulting from a violation of the rules outlined in the Russian River Vacation Homes guest agreement. To ensure that you are not charged for any damages, you are responsible for reporting any accidental damages to Russian River Vacation Homes in a timely manner.

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours:
The maximum occupancy is 8 people. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.
There is parking for 2 cars parked in in the driveway and 2 more behind the garage. The garage is not available for cars. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Road to Forest Ridge:
Part of the access to the house is a narrow one-lane, country road. It is paved and no special vehicle is required. We provide detailed written driving directions to confirmed guests.
Stairs & Paths:
Once inside the house there are no stairs. There are several steps into and out of the house at each door and most of these are stone and concrete. Paths closest to the house and around the pool are paved. The rest are cleared of branches but allowed to remain somewhat wild.
Office Hours and Booking Information:
Our office is open from 9 am to 5 pm every day, excluding major holidays.
After making a booking and confirming their security deposit vs. damage protection preference, guests will be sent arrival instructions and a contract with our terms in detail to sign and return. You will be contacted within 24 hours of making your reservation.
No same-day reservations past 2 pm. It should not happen, but in case the system is allowing you to book for same-day arrival and it is after 2 pm, please reach out to us. If it is after 5 pm, please do not complete your reservation; no one will be available to process your reservation and prepare for your arrival.
The yard is partially fenced. Deer are known to wander through the property.
Proximity to Wineries:
Littorai, Boheme, Freeman Vineyards, Small Vines, and Marimar Estate all have tasting rooms within 2 to 3 miles of the house.
Nearest River Beach:
The nearest river access is at the Monte Rio Public Beach is 9.3 miles (approx. 20 minutes) from the house.
Nearest Ocean Beach:
Doran Beach (one of our favorites) is 11.6 miles (approx. 20 minutes) from the house.
