A steep 1/4 mile gravel drive up the hillside (front wheel drive or four wheel drive is recommended) leads to the quiet and seclusion surrounding this simply furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bath older double wide manufactured home. The main master bedroom has a queen-sized bed, one bedroom has a full-sized bed and the smallest room has a twin-sized bed. The futon sofa in the living room could be used to sleep two people on a full-sized mattress. The living room is furnished with a DVD/VHS player and there is a boom box in the kitchen for radio. The kitchen is great for dining as it is equipped with dinnerware, cookware and extras like waffle maker, crepe maker, etc. House is situated a little back from a ridge overlooking the Walla Walla River valley South Fork region and has a beautiful 360 degree view of the Blue Mountains and Walla Walla Valley. You can see down into the Walla Walla River valley a short walk from the house to the east, the Seven Hills area is visible from the driveway to the west, and a short walk to the north brings you to a view of Walla Walla. To the north and south are wheat fields.
Against the backdrop of the Blue Mountains, Milton-Freewater is fertile farm country of orchards and wheat fields. The vineyards here cross state borders to form the Walla Walla Valley AVA in Oregon and Washington. Wine is just one part of Milton-Freewater’s growing tradition of artisan food and drink; the town is also home to a brewery, a cidery, and a chocolate boutique. Your hosts operate a 10-acre you pick blueberry farm just over the ridge in the valley below (Usually open late June through mid to late July).
Milton-Freewater is located in Eastern Oregon, where miles of scenic byways, wilderness, working cattle ranches and basalt canyons are still the place for explorers to make their mark.
