A lot of charm... with some disappointing quirks

  • 3 of 5

Let me say up front that this is a lovely property, with fast and easy proximity to Breck, Frisco and Copper. However, our stay was punctuated by a series of unfortunate events, starting with a non-functioning garage keypad which prevented us from accessing the unit without the help of the upstairs tenants. Their separate keypad was also inoperative.

We then discovered the "kitchen" consisted of a microwave/convection oven and some hotplates. Don't plan on cooking much up there. Also, bring instant coffee, because there's no coffee maker.

Heading to bed, the provided linens were missing for the hide-a-bed, which necessitated quite a few texts and emails with both the management company and owner. The upstairs and downstairs units share a common water heater, and after the upstairs contingent had finished their marathon showers, we had no hot water; cold showers punctuated our stay.

These little things accumulated enough to create a disappointing experience despite the obvious charm of the place. It's clean, well kept and fairly modern, although the cable was a bit spotty, and we had to reset the box a couple of times. There are no movie channels or Netflix access, so I hope you like House Hunters on HGTV.

Despite the issues, both the owner and management were very responsive to the issues, and even granted us access to the locked supply closet for linens. The excellent washer/dryer in the unit got a lot of use, too.

I know this sounds like a lot of quibbling, and I truly would recommend the place knowing its limitations. You just need to be aware of what you're getting - a basic place to crash while you ski.

Great Vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

I absoloutely loved my stay. It is so cozy ,nice and so clean. I was there on my honeymoon and it was perfect. I would recommend this place to anyone in need of a nice little cozy spot to stay. The management team responds almost immediately if you have any questions or needs. We totally will be coming back to stay again and again. Thanks for this cozy spot for me and my new husband. Best vacation/ honeymoon ever.
