Located in the lovely downtown New Port Richey historical district. We have decorated this house to reflect a "beach" lifestyle. We believe that when you are on vacation, our house should make you feel like you are on a vacation!

This house is 1200 square feet and has 2 bedrooms, (with queen beds), plus an enclosed sun room, (with a daybed that has a sliding trundle bed underneath), that can be used as a 3rd bedroom. The main bathroom features double vanity sinks and a tub/shower combo, and is very spacious. There is also a half bath located inside one of the bedrooms that has a toilet and a sink. The living room area is very large and features crown molding, high ceilings, and wainscoting along the walls. Everything has been upgraded in this house! We kept the original hardwood pine floors in both bedrooms, the living room, the dining room, and the sun room. We have refinished them to their original glory. We wanted the outside to have a rustic Key West look, so we left the blue tin roof! It has been professionally sealed so that it will remain weatherproof for many years to come!

The kitchen is full sized with lots of counter top space, stainless steel appliances, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. The living room has a flat screen t.v. with cable television, and WiFi 50/50 speed. There is also a spacious laundry room with a stackable washer and dryer for your use.

We have also included a medium size (up to 45 lb.), dog crate for your use with bed, bowls, and leash.

We have supplied all of the amenities that you will need... just bring your clothes!

This house has been rented for the past 3 months by the same couple and that is why we do not have any reviews posted yet.

This home provides a fully enclosed back yard and has ample off street parking. It is situated within walking distance of several downtown New Port Richey merchants and restaurants as well as scenic Orange Lake, which is a great place to walk your dog! Also within walking distance, is Sims Park along Main Street and the Pithlachascotee River that includes: a newly renovated, 3 million dollar playground, park, and amphi-theatre! Sims Park is also host to several outdoor festivities throughout the year and outdoor movies!

New Port Richey is 'rich' in history, and in 1926 it seemed possible that New Port Richey would become another Hollywood or at least a winter getaway for Hollywood stars. Famous celebrities from all over the world have purchased property in New Port Richey including Thomas Meighan, Irving Berlin, Gene Sarazan, Charlie Chaplin, Gloria Swanson, Johnny Cash, and Shirley Temple's aunt and uncle, whom she would visit every summer. The Hacienda Hotel, (now closed), was once the scene of many social events attended by some of the most famous celebrities of stage and screen. It is currently under renovation.

The downtown area is host to many events such as The Chasco Street Parade, (March) The Chasco Boat Parade, (March), Bike Week, (October), The Christmas Street Parade and boat Parade, (December), Night in the Tropics, St. Patrick's Day, (Fitzgerald's- 3 day event), outdoor movies, concerts, outdoor markets, etc.

There is also a public boat ramp located right up the street at Main Street and River Road.

About Heather Schneider

I currently live in the downtown New Port Richey area. I have been renting my homes for over 3 years. One of my main reasons for buying in the downtown area is because I grew up here. I knew many years ago that I wanted to make a difference and I wanted to help revitalize this great historical area where I live. My goal is not to flip my houses... I only rent them. I love to decorate and see what ideas I can come up with next. I went with a little more of a funky Key West style with this particular house... at least on the outside. The inside is very serene with shades of grey, light blue, and tan.

Why Heather Schneider chose New Port Richey

We specifically chose to buy and renovate this property due to the home's location. It is within walking distance to Sims Park, the library, the river, the public boat ramp, a large children's playground, and many local shops and restaurants right in the historical downtown area. We tell all of our friends that we are living in a vacationer's paradise. So, we not share it? We have put a lot of time and careful planning into renovating this home. I would say that 90% of what you see is brand new right down to the furnishings. We've fenced in the backyard for privacy. There are hardwood floors in the living room, dining room, master bedroom, guest room, and sun room room, which have all been refinished. This property also has a new sofa. Six people can sleep comfortably in this home. This home also has a large laundry room with a washer and a dryer. There are also smoke detectors throughout the house. We will have current issues of popular magazines for you to read. This rental is located a block away from the local library, and is about a half mile from the local hospital.

Great little spot

House was perfect for us. Very clean, charming, well appointed, and seemed to be in a safe neighborhood (sheriff car down parked at the house down the road). Bed and pillows were a little uncomfortable or I'd give 5 stars. Not bad though.. just a little uncomfortable (could also be because we are used to a queen size). Overall, we would recommend and stay here again if in the area.
