You’ll love this secluded, serene, mountainous lodge where you can explore our hiking trails, take in the views, & experience the natural sounds of silence. At night you will see the heavens come alive with shooting stars and constellations. And as a bonus we haveping pong & foosball in our game room!
We are 6 miles to Mars Hill, 24 miles to Asheville, 7 miles to Marshall, & 22 miles to Hot Springs where you will find restaurants, family-friendly activities, plenty of hiking, & river sports.
The Lodge has 2 floors. The top floor has bedrooms 1 and 2, 1.5 bathrooms, and a very open floor plan with a large kitchen, the reading nook, and a cozy sitting area with a wood stove (we provide wood for this indoor stove at no extra cost). You will also find a selection of books for your reading pleasure. The books range across all genres and age groups.
On the lower floor you will find bedrooms 3 and 4, 2 bathrooms, a large ping pong table, Foosball, and a large bookcase filled with a wide variety of board games.
The lodge has porch that covers 3 sides of the house, providing an amazing place to sit and look at the surrounding scenery.
There is also a fire ring nearby should you want an outdoor fire. You are welcome to use the wood that we provide for the indoor wood stove. However, I can also supply extra wood and have it at the fire ring for you for an extra fee depending on how much wood you would like.
There are no land phone-lines on the property. The most reliable cellular provider up here for service is Verizon. You may experience coverage difficulties with other providers.
Most importantly is the water... At the Ridge Top Lodge we have PURE mountain spring water coming through our taps. This is the sweetest water you will ever taste. Please bring your refillable water bottles and leave the bottled water at the store! We are the head waters of the East Fork Creek that you drive along while heading to our land. While visiting our place be aware that you are sitting on and at the source of clean unadulterated water!
Ridge-Top Lodge sits at the top of our 106 acre property. While the majority of this is a temperate rain forest, lush with flora and fauna, as you drive up our property for the first time you will see a pond, a small cabin dating back to around the civil war, an early 20-century farmhouse, and an old barn. You will pass many modern buildings as you drive to the top of the property until you see the Ridge-Top Lodge, matching the photos on this page.
While you are welcomed to walk the property, please do not enter any of the buildings but the Ridge-Top Lodge. Also, please do not enter the pen where the goats are kept.
We will only be a phone call/email away during your stay and, also, typically on other parts of the property. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me during your stay, so, I may address them.
