Would highly recommend staying here with a family!!
We really enjoyed our stay in Sanibel. The condo was clean, updated and perfect for a family. It was fully stocked with beach chairs, beach toys, towels and kitchen supplies. The accommodations were very comfortable and felt like home. The access to beach, pool and tennis courts were excellent. The location was equidistant from Sanibel and Captiva restaurants, shops and destinations. The condo association even put in a free Easter egg hunt for the families staying on the property. I would highly reccomend staying here and look forward to coming back.
Fantastic Week at a Wonderful Condo
My family and I had a wonderful stay at your amazing condo. The condo is so beautifully decorated and comfortable. The condo community was just lovely, and the landscaping was gorgeous. There were flowers blooming everywhere. We loved that the beach was just a short walk. The sunsets at the beach were breathtaking! I think we missed only one during our stay. Thank you for all the special touches - you thought of everything that we would need!
Great spring break!
Condo was decorated very nicely and was very clean. There were chairs, umbrellas, coolers and beach towels for the beach. We enjoyed staying at this condo. I would recommend to others.
Lovely Sanibel Condo
Beautiful condo equipped with everything we needed. Lovely private beach. Immaculately maintained grounds and pool area.
Great condo. Very clean, beautifully furnished, easy access to beach, nice beach gear included.
Condo was clean and beautiful. Nice quality cabinetry, dishes and cookware. Owners provided great beach chairs, cooler and umbrella. Property was well maintained including pool area and grill pit in which 5 nice gas grills were available. Enjoyed the fact that property had car port to provide shelter from sun. Quiet community - very relaxing vacation.
Relaxing stay at a great property
The property was just what we expected to find, based on the listing. It was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. Communication with the owner was wonderful! When our flight was delayed due to weather, she went to the condo to turn on lights for us--she had also turned on the A/C and started the ice maker earlier in the day.
The previous reviewer was correct in pointing out that there is not an elevator in the building. There are 16 steps to navigate to get to the second floor, where the unit is located. It wasn't a problem for us, but might be for others.
The condo development is quiet. Bowman's Beach is a short walk via the condo's beach access. We enjoyed walking the beach in the mornings and there are plenty of shells for anyone who likes to go shelling! We also used the pool, another a short walk from the unit. Being on the west end of Sanibel, the condo is both close to Captiva and also just a short drive to town for restaurants, shopping, and provisions.
We had a wonderful stay on Sanibel and hated to leave. Next time we will stay an additional week!
Sanibel beaches attract visitors from all around the world, partly because of the large quantities of seashells that frequently wash up there. Many sand dollars can be found as well. One of the reasons for these large accumulations of shells is because Sanibel is a barrier island which is part of a large plateau that extends out into the Gulf of Mexico for miles. It is this plateau that acts like a shelf for seashells to gather. Sanibel also has an east-west orientation when most islands are north-south. Hence, the island is gifted with great sandy beaches and an abundance of shells. People who are lucky enough to find the elegant brown-spotted shell of a Junonia on a Sanibel beach often get their picture in the local newspapers. Junonia are reasonably common living in deep water, but they only rarely wash up; a beach find of a whole shell is greatly prized. An exhibit at the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum on Sanibel shows a growth series of Junonias. Junonia shells can be purchased at local shell shops, or can be seen on display in the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum, in some of the glass display tables at the Sanibel Cafe, or at the Sanibel Shell Fair in early March. Throughout the year, many people come to the beaches of Sanibel to gather shells. People are often seen bending down as they look for seashells, and this posture is known as the "Sanibel Stoop." There are beaches almost all around the island. There are even beaches along the Sanibel causeway, and these are great for fishing and windsurfing. Lighthouse Beach is named after the famous Sanibel Lighthouse, which includes a popular fishing pier and nature trails. The most secluded beach on the island is Bowman's Beach; there are no hotels in sight and the beach has a "pristine and quiet" atmosphere. Barron's selected Sanibel and Captiva Islands as one of the 10 Best Places for Second Homes in 2010.
